Darra Markland, PA-C
Darra is a Delaware native who graduated with honors from the University of Delaware with a B.S. in Exercise Science. She also has an interest in liberal arts, and spent two years of her undergraduate career studying at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. While at the University of Delaware, Darra worked with recovering stroke patients in the physical therapy lab and interned with Christiana Care’s cardiac rehabilitation facility. In 2016, she completed her master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Darra returned to Lewes, DE, where she has practiced both primary care and critical care medicine prior to specializing in cardiology. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the American College of Cardiology. She is currently enrolled in Cornell's Plant-Based Nutrition program to better understand how our diet affects disease processes. Darra is most passionate about primary prevention through dietary and lifestyle choices as well as electrophysiology. She enjoys educating and empowering patients to help them achieve individualized cardiovascular health goals.
