Connect with the breath & soften your pelvic floor with this 12 min Meditation.

The word Yoni means sacred portal between two worlds in Sanskrit. The Yoni, commonly known as the womb, va**na, or pelvic floor, has many physical functions.

The Pelvic floor is a Respiratory muscle essential in both the male and female pelvis. When active for core stabilization it maintains appropriate and balanced intra-abdominal pressures especially with coughing, lifting, or eliminating.

With 3 distinct fascial layers the pelvic floor requires coordinated activity levels of activation & relaxation. In the presence of an imbalance, overactivity can contribute to pain in the low back, pelvic girdle, or with sexual in*******se, and difficulty with elimination. Under activity can lead to leakage, pelvic organ prolapse, and difficulty achieving or maintaining an or**sm.

Coordination of pelvic floor activation and relaxation are necessary for proper balance and necessary for appropriate breathing patterns.

Spiritually, the yoni is considered your sacred point of wisdom. It is the carrier of life, source, and creative energy.

3. Varied: Dynamic movement creates new varied experiences & neural pathways allowing for improved reflexes and reaction for injury prevention.

The Benefits of Cerebellum Training!

Did you know? The cerebellum is responsible for the ABCs of movement: accuracy, balance, and coordination. Anytime you see a great golfer, a great tennis player, someone that makes an amazing catch in football, you can look at that and go “that was awesome, and they’ve probably got a great cerebellum.” If you want better balance or if you want smoother, more efficient movement, it can be valuable to evaluate and challenge the cerebellum in your training or rehabilitation program.

Posture proprioception and training what neutral spine feels like in various positions is foundational for injury prevention and long term health.

Proprioception is bodies ability to sense the position, location, orientation, and movement of your body and it’s parts.

With better positional awareness of feeling what your neutral spine is supposed to feel like, creates healthy muscle memory to move in more mechanically safe movement patterns while stooping, lifting, or even flowing through your favorite yoga class.

We initially practice posture re-education holding static positions in or to proprioceptively train our mind/body connection to what neutral alignment feels like. Over time and with practice, our bodies begin to adopt your practiced neutral spine as its new normal in various positions naturally!!!

Remix your cleaning routine! Take a break from static postures that create tension and learn to embrace more opportunities to move in the moment!

Today’s posture reset example is to be performed standing at the sink and is helpful to relieve tension, reset your spine, and stabilize back into the hips & core.

5 Truths of dysfunctional breathing (DB) & posture.

Breathing is central to our posture and the way we move. It influences mental outlook, appearance, emotional resilience, and stress management.

1. DB is attributed to improper coordination of your diaphragm, abdomen, and pelvic floor.

2. DB causes compensatory use or holding of other muscles contributing to altered postural holding.

3. Exercise with dysfunctional breathing can gradually make your posture worse!

4. This can worsen and contribute to chronic muscle tension in the back or neck.

5. DB can contribute to increased digestive and emotional distress.

So what can you do today?

Grab a ball, block, or rolled up towel and connect back inward with your body & breath.

Doing so in different positions allows for improved 360 trunk expansion, which allows for improved ability to fully activate our primary breathing muscles.
