Most people have never heard the term "aging in place" β but almost every older adult wants exactly that.
It simply means, staying in your own home as you get older, rather than moving to a facility. Your own bedroom. Your own kitchen. Your own neighborhood. Your independence, intact.
The challenge is that aging brings real physical changes β balance issues, joint pain, weakness after surgery β that can make staying home feel risky.
Thatβs where we come in.
At Aging in Place Specialists, we send licensed physical therapists directly to seniorsβ homes across Lewes and Eastern Sussex County. We help them get stronger, move more safely, and stay in the place they love most.
No facilities. No waiting rooms. Just expert, outpatient care, at home.
If you have a parent, neighbor, or loved one whoβs been told they βMight need to consider other optionsβ β call us first.

Happy Summer to everyone!
We were recently informed that there is a pick up truck in Sussex County doing home modification/ construction work with a magnet on the vehicle that says 'Aging in Place Specialists, LLC' with a 302 area code phone number.
We want you to know that they are using our name erroneously and they are not associated with our company at all. Please alert us if you spot them so we can take further action.

Pain can be stressful. Here are some quick tools to help ease your mind when you're in pain.
1. You get more of what you focus on. Instead of focusing on the limitations, focus on what you CAN do.
2. Lie down comfortably with your knees slightly bent and supported. Imagine yourself in a place you love and allow yourself to feel joy and peace.
3. Be fully present while engaging in whatever you like to do- whether it's reading, playing a card game, or gardening.
If you would like a FREE pain screen by phone with one of our physical therapists, simply message us so we can help or call 302-444-8318.

We provide in-home Outpatient Physical Therapy and assist with Home Remodeling and Modifications such as grab bars, bathroom remodeling, ramps, railings and more!
We treat all conditions commonly treated by Physical Therapy but are known in our community for our excellent Physical Therapy outcomes for improving balance as well as for low back pain and sciatica. We firmly believe in empowering our patients to be their best. We achieve this by providing education about their condition, developing a customized care plan, and instructing on behavior modifications needed to avoid injury. AIPS also works one on one with every client in the privacy of their own home with Board Certified and highly skilled Physical Therapists for an attentive and progressive approach to care.
For our patients with pain-conditions, we progress them through 3 Phases of Healing:
1. Get rid of the pain.
2. Restore normal mobility and strength.
3. Get them back to doing the activities they couldn't do before.
Our balance treatment program helps individuals with various levels of balance difficulty. We have a personalized approach for re-training the balance systems that are deficient and causing unsteadiness. Our methods show consistent results in diminishing fall risk.
