Celebrate Trails Day is an annual springtime celebration of America’s trails. 🥾🌄

Each year, on the fourth Saturday of April, Rails to Trails Conservancy invites everyone to celebrate by getting outside to experience the joy and impact of the country’s trails.

You can celebrate trails with us on Saturday April 25 by joining an event through
https://www.railstotrails.org/celebratetrailsday/ …or simply hitting your favorite trail for a hike!

Most importantly, we want you to tell us about it by tagging and on social media.

Check out the attached resource for some fun hikes to try in Androscoggin County! 🚵‍♂️🚵‍♀️

Earth Day is every day but today we celebrate! How are you honoring this holiday?

Happy Earth Day! Started in 1970, Earth Day is celebrated worldwide as a way to educate people on environmental awareness and to encourage people to work to clean-up and maintain their local environment!

Earth Day has become a day to not only recognize nature and all it provides, but it is also a day which encourages communities to come together and clean up litter, plant trees and flowers, and advocate for the environment! But there’s so much more that you can do to celebrate this year's Earth Day!

-Support pollinators by planting native plants!
-Walk around your local park!
-Teach your friends and family about the importance of native habitats!

NAMI Maine encourages you to take time today to get outside and enjoy nature. Not only for your mental health, but also to enjoy what this world offers us.

“Spring is nature’s way of saying; Let’s Party!” - Robin Williams

In recognition of Earth Day, it’s a great time to think about small actions that make a big difference.

If you’re looking for a simple way to reduce waste and give back, the upcoming Free Recycle Day Drive-Thru Event with Community Credit Union offers an easy opportunity to responsibly clear out unwanted items while supporting local efforts.

A cleaner community starts with all of us!

It's month!
Adults are encouraged to get 150+ minutes of moderate-intensity activity weekly to improve heart health and mental well-being. Try some small daily lifestyle changes—like walking, taking stairs, or dancing—to combat sedentary habits.

What will you do this weekend and the rest of this month to increase your movement minutes? Let us know in the comment section and read through others' ideas for inspiration!

See the links below for resources to get moving 🏃🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️… even 5 minutes of movement at a time counts and it all adds up!

This past Friday Rachel of Healthy Androscoggin was pleased to attend the Bates College Mt. David Summit where Eva Boucher shared her senior thesis project, The Influence of To***co and Ni****ne Use on Nutrition and Recovery.

As part of her work in nutrition and ni****ne at Healthy Androscoggin, Rachel played a role supporting and guiding Eva with research and coordinating interviews with public health/ni****ne intervention specialists, dietitians, and doctors for the project.

Eva assessed the challenges and concerns shared by these practitioners through her interview questions and determined ways we can assist physicians and other health care practitioners by distributing materials with resources on the effects of tobacco/ni****ne use and nutritional needs.

Amazing work, Eva and all the Mt. David Summit presenters!
