Today is a self-appointed Avalon holiday…our fearless leader, Blaine’s BIRTHDAY!!! ✨🥳💙 How lucky are we to have this guy leading the charge! He has many strengths that keep Avalon thriving but taking a serious picture may not be one of them! 🤣 We appreciate all that he does for us day in and day out and hope he knows Avalon wouldn’t be what it is without him! Join us in wishing him the happiest birthday and best year ahead!! 🎉🎂

This November, Avalon’s Community Care Initiative is taking on something close to the heart; a make-shift food pantry for our clients!

Thanks to generous donations from Avalon staff and our amazing community members, we’ll be offering food assistance all month long to help ease the financial strain many face as the holidays approach.
If you’re one of our clients and could use a little extra support this month, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help! 💙

We are rounding out our October anniversaries with…🥁🥁🥁….Walt! 🥳

Hard to believe he has been with us for 3 years already!
Walt has been a steady force in our Wilton office and a true pillar in the substance use treatment community. He’s fun, kind, and the first to lend a hand to anyone in need!

He does all this while holding the “office big brother” role; here to make everyone laugh, give solid support and occasionally drive us a little crazy! 😉

We are so grateful he is on our team! Here’s to many more years ahead! 💙

Today we pause to remember the 18 lives lost two years ago and to honor the many individuals, families, and first responders whose lives were forever changed. Healing is not linear, and so many in our community continue to carry the weight of that night in ways seen and unseen.

As an agency, we stand alongside those who are still processing, grieving, and finding their way forward. Sharing our stories and holding space for one another are powerful steps toward healing.

Due to the current government shutdown, November's federal SNAP benefits cannot be issued until the shutdown ends.

At this time, SNAP benefits already loaded onto EBT cards remain available for use to purchase food.

Happy 5-Year Anniversary to Tom- one of the OGs of Avalon! 🙌🏼

From day one, Tom has brought a level of energy that’s impossible to ignore! Call it passion, call it drive, but whatever it is, it’s 100% real. He’s one of those people that show up as his authentic self every single day. No fluff, no BS, just a straight shooter who tells it like it is (and yeah, maybe a few colorful words thrown in for good measure).

We’re lucky to have him. Avalon wouldn’t be the same without his energy, honesty and his relentless commitment to doing things right!

It is our mission to educate, inspire, and improve the lives of the individuals and families affected by co-occurring mental health disorders. We want to end the shame and stigma associated with these disorders, to improve outcomes for the people we work with, and to help the countless others who are too afraid to ask for help.

Avalon Counseling Services is now accepting Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, BHCP(Behavioral Health Care Program), Mainecare, MMC (Maine Medical Center), MCHO (Maine Community Health Options), Martin’s Point, and EBPA (Employee Benefit Plan Administration, and self pays.
