🥶 Brrr—it’s cold out there, Pennsylvania. This cold can freeze Narcan stored in cars, bags, or outdoor kits.

When frozen, the naloxone spray won’t work. Let it fully thaw at room temperature (about 15 minutes), and it will be effective again.

If an overdose is suspected, don’t wait—call 911 right away. If the person isn’t breathing or is breathing slowly, provide rescue breathing until Narcan can be given and help arrives.

Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard got a donation of coats this week, so another coat drive is happening!

New coats from last week, as those were donated to shelters after we finished the drive.

Tomorrow and Friday only, will not put aside as it is first come first serve. Limited supply available.

We are truly honored to be a spotlight as an Overdose Prevention Program partner from Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs. Our office will continue to work and strive for overdose death prevention, harm reduction tools, and reduce stigma.

Overdose deaths are declining in rural Mifflin and Juniata Counties—reflecting a broader statewide decline under the Shapiro Administration.

Grateful for dedicated overdose prevention partners like Juniata Valley Tri-County Drug and Alcohol, serving Huntingdon, Mifflin, and Juniata Counties.

Fewer fatal overdoses mean more opportunities for people to reach treatment and recovery.

We are proud to be an Overdose Prevention Partner since 2019 ! Last reporting year, we handed out just over 1,200 boxes of free NARCAN to Huntington, Mifflin and Juniata counties.
