There is only ONE service position open in the DASC (Dallas Area Service Committee). It is Public Relations. Please spread the word to those who are interested and who qualify. If you are interested in attending Area, I am willing to give you a ride to meet in person or you may attend virtually. Here is the description.
SECTION EIGHTEEN
PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMITTEE
18.1 The DASC Public Relations committee addresses Narcotics Anonymous'
public relations outside our fellowship in keeping with the spirit of our Eleventh
Tradition.
• This committee provides information, establishes, develops, maintains
relationships and cooperates with institutions to provide information about
Narcotics Anonymous as a viable, respected, and well-recognized program of
recovery following the spirit of our fellowship's vision.
• Efforts may include (but are not limited to) institutions such as media outlets,
healthcare organizations, court systems, and treatment facilities.
• The committee handles matters thru the media, and supplies DASC groups and
the Area as a whole with the information necessary to initiate and follow up public
relations campaigns, as well as responding appropriately to requests for
speakers and information.
• Finally, the committee coordinates efforts with. member areas, regional Public
Relations and is guided by the PR handbook and the 11th Tradition.
18.2 Qualifications for Public Relations chair are:
o Willingness and desire to serve
o At least one (1) year clean time
o At least six (6) months NA involvement
o Understanding of the Twelve Traditions of Narcotics Anonymous,
o Understanding of the Twelve Concepts for NA Service
o Time and resources necessary to be an active participant
18.3 Public Relations has its own internal guideline to help its members to carry the
message of recovery in the Dallas Area.
