✨ Pilates is coming to PeakRx in the New Year! ✨

While lifting weights and resistance training will always be king 👑… we also know that slowing down, reconnecting with your body, and strengthening from the inside out is just as essential.

Pilates helps you do exactly that.
✨ Breathwork (yes—breathing is a fine motor skill!)
✨ Spinal alignment
✨ Total-body integration
✨ Deep core + pelvic floor strengthening

We are happy to begin to provide mat based Pilates here at PeakRx starting January and open to all people of all skill levels.

Our Mat Pilates classes will be "drop in" only so no commitments or big gym fees. Just a nice kick in the butt when you want it. We are underway with our trial classes now through December to make sure we are dialed in and ready for you!

And the best part?
Our classes will be taught by a Doctor of Physical Therapy, so you can move with confidence, intention, and zero fear of injury. 🙌

women for months, even years after having babies and now in the years leading up to menopause are told a lie that they are "just dry" when answer the question of why s*x sucks.

these pracitioners also are probably telling them to just drink wine and relax, "take your time" and wait it out. wrong. wrong. wrong.

if thats what you think, add l**e. if the problem magically goes away, we love that for you and use that. but time and time again, all the l**e in the world still doesnt seem to quench that feeling of rawness, scratchy, pinchy pain that comes with in*******se.

pain between the sheets is multifactoral and rarely explained by just one thing. muscles can be tight and tense after pregnancy, there can be scar tissue, hormonal changes effecting the soft tissue - and even bigger diagnosis like endometriosis or PCOS.

pelvic floor PTs know and understand the differences in all of these things. we have more tools for you then just, wait it out.

s*x shouldnt hurt (unless you want it to 😘 ) dont settle for less.

150-300 minutes a week of moderate intensity exercise during pregnancy is not only "safe" but strongly recommended. exercise is the most powerful tool we have to combat against gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, postpartum depression, back/hip pain and even pelvic floor dysfunction like leakage and prolapse.

lifting heavy, getting your heart rate up, moving your body more than not is good. safe. effective and wonderful.

getting eyes on your belly is a wonderful tool to help you understand more how its functioning. we are seeing more and more women AND men coming in with diastasis recti, hernias and visual changes in how their tummies look when they do core work.

your deep core muscles act as a corset, drawing in and flattening your belly. they also stablilze your spine, help with BMs 💩 aid in peeing and doing the dirty too! 🍆🌮🌮

many people with under performing deep cores generally report back pain, never feeling core worth in their cores, and difficulty progressing exercise.

dont let your belly alien win and come get that core bullet proof strong!

while we start with pelvic floor connection, mobility, and maybe some good ol' fashioned rest - we do not believe any physical therapy plan of care is complete until a person is loading appropriately. Now that doesnt always have to be a barbell in the gym.

all the things we want to do in life pain and symptom free need to be progressed to and practiced.

-lifting a grandbaby out of a crib
-getting up off the ground without using our hands
-opening a pickle jar
-moving bags of mulch throughout your yard
-climbing mountains
-walking 30k steps and disney world....

kegels, glute bridges and rotator cuff work with the band doesnt scratch the surface in getting your tissues ready for these things!

Chronic and unrelenting pain anywhere is overwhelming and hard to know where to start. She killed her program by trusting the process, trying new things and overall, getting strong and resilient!

allowing people moments to tap into this at their home gym and talk about how to add it into the movements they are already doing is a wonderful way to make changes to our pelvis, low backs, hips etc!

many times, stiffness and tension in the muscles in our pelvis is what contributes to things like leaking, pain and pressure. Think about having knots in your shoulder blades or neck.... headaches, neck pain galore! so what happens when we have the same tension but in our pelvis?

wands are a great tool for clients to manage their issue at home and support the work we do in the clinic!

PeakRx is here to help you meet your goals, how ever big or small they might be.

With our ability and specialization in pelvic health, we also help those dealing with pelvic floor dysfunction. Things like involuntary urine leakage, pain with s*x/penetration, pressure or heaviness in your va**na are all symptoms that can be addressed with pelvic floor physical therapy! We specialize in bridging the gap between rehab and fitness for women with pelvic health concerns!

We do not believe there is ever any quick fixes. Rehab takes time, discipline, and dedication each and every day to make the right choices to help your body move well. We do not want anyone to feel lost or less than when it comes to fitness and dealing with their injury. We love to help each person naviagate their rehab without losing time doing what they love!
