For some reason, us health and wellness professionals are reallyyy good at giving our clients permission to rest... but not so great at giving it to ourselves. 😅
Y'all know we are really big on self-care over here at Growth Matters. And we mean beyond the bubble baths and candles. (Although, we do love a good bubble bath and candle).
But the self-care that we tend to forget is the daily, boring, unglamorous stuff that keeps you from burning out in a field that asks SO much of you.
Here are a few of our favorite ways to practice self-care:
🌱 Move your body daily (Even a ten-minute walk counts, y'all!)
🌿 Set boundaries (In your personal *and* professional life. Yes, even with that one client who is basically getting free therapy in between sessions via email.)
🪷 Intentional rest (You know, rest that you actually plan for, not just collapse-on-the-couch rest when your body inevitably forces you to)
🔄 Create systems & Schedule breaks (Protect your time like you protect your clients' time)
🫂 Build community (Isolation is a clinical hazard and we're not going to pretend otherwise!)
And can we talk about that second one for a second? 👆🏾
Because community is literally how we survive this field with our sanity intact.
