Black mental wellness deserves visibility — not just for a day, but every day.
This Black History Month, we’ve recognized diverse voices and experiences while underscoring that mental health equity is essential to overall health, safety, and opportunity.
Today, on , we continue to elevate conversations about stigma, center culturally responsive care, and reaffirm the importance of community-based solutions.
Black mental wellness is shaped by strength, resilience, advocacy, and collective care. It also requires access, investment, and systems change.
As Black History Month comes to a close, our commitment continues.

Last week reminded us why we do this work. Hearing Elizabeth Smart and gathering with over 600 dedicated professionals was powerful. The conversations, the connection, the commitment to our community—it all mattered. 🩵
Still proud. Still inspired. Still grateful.
“It takes a village to just survive life - we all need each other... I’m so grateful for the people who show up every day to hold space for others to heal and recover." - Elizabeth Smart

We want to say a special thank you to Lt. Governor Jacqueline Coleman for speaking about Kentucky’s Student Mental Health Initiative at our conference!
“Back in 2021, we started the Student Mental Health Initiative where we sat down with students across Kentucky to hear firsthand about their mental health experiences and ideas. Their input was incredible and led to meaningful recommendations we're still working to implement.” -LTG
Kentucky students deserve accessible, compassionate mental health care. The statewide initiative is breaking barriers and opening doors—and we’re proud to be part of the solution. 💙

Thank you, Wayspring, for helping us make the path to recovery clearer for those we serve!
Provider Spotlight: Lucy Gentry, LCSW, at The Ridge Behavioral Health System
Lucy shared that the collaboration between Wayspring and The Ridge helps address the real‑world barriers that often make it hard for patients to stay engaged in treatment, such as transportation, distance, insurance complexity, and limited support systems. She told us our partnership “makes everything feel streamlined, helpful, and supportive,” giving patients the best chance at success in their recovery journey.
