In all the excitement, I forgot to take a group picture at this weekend's recital, but we were able to snag these candid shots from a couple of attendees! What a great afternoon of music making. I love our little community and spending this time together each year. Thank you to all for your support and thank you to all our performers for sharing your music with us!

Kids in this group explored electronic beat-making, drums, hand-held percussion, ukulele, and singable/rappable books! 🎵 🥁

Led by a music therapist, the goals of this group are not educational in nature, rather, goals include things like providing opportunities to try new things in a safe space, building self-confidence and self-esteem, nurturing musical interest and talent, and reinforcing positive interpersonal interactions through musicking as a group -- things that all kids can benefit from! We are excited to continue to support these kiddos through music!

Sharing one of my favorite Spanish language songs right now for early childhood: Baile de las Vocales Aeiou by 123 Andres & Baila Baila! This song can easily be sung in English as well, or alternating in both languages as I demonstrate here.

The song has so many great action words, opportunities to encourage vocalization (especially if you make the ah-ah-ah sections longer and more playful), and opportunities to practice following directions, not to mention the opportunity to build multilingual language skills.
