Be a Holiday Hero with KVC Kentucky! 💙

Many Kentuckians both youth and adults have faced immense challenges this year: mental health struggles, trauma, economic hardship and substance use.

Last year, KVC Kentucky providers stood alongside over 22,000 individuals and families, offering hope and support when they needed it most. One client shared:

“The KVC team was so understanding. They were like a light in the dark and just by listening and being kind, we were able to find our own light again.” ✨

This holiday season, YOU can be that light for someone in need. 🌟Your gift helps families find hope, healing and a brighter tomorrow.

November is National Gratitude Month! 🌟

At KVC Kentucky, we know that taking time to appreciate the good big or small can make a powerful difference in our mental health and overall well-being. This month, we’re focusing on gratitude, mindfulness, and positive thinking as simple yet meaningful ways to boost emotional wellness.

Service Spotlight: Meet Hannah Becerra Moore, MSW, LCSW – Therapist at KVC Kentucky🌟

Say hello to Hannah Becerra Moore, MSW, LCSW, one of our compassionate outpatient therapists here at KVC Kentucky! Hannah works with children, teens, and adults to help them move through life’s challenges whether that’s healing from trauma, navigating transitions, managing anxiety or building stronger relationships.
She uses several evidence-based therapy methods to support her clients, including:
🔹 EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) – A powerful, research-backed therapy that helps individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences without reliving the pain.
🔹 Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – Helps clients recognize negative thought patterns and develop healthier ways of thinking and coping.
🔹 Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) – Focuses on emotional regulation, mindfulness, and building healthy interpersonal skills especially helpful for managing overwhelming emotions or stress.
These approaches help clients feel more in control, resilient and capable of lasting change.
💬 Here’s what Hannah says about her work:
“Healing begins when we feel seen, supported, and reminded that change is possible. I’m here to walk alongside clients as they reclaim their strength and move toward healing.”
If you or someone you care about is facing emotional challenges or struggling with the weight of past experiences, Hannah offers a warm, safe space to begin the healing journey.

Same cinematic energy with therapy, boundaries and self-care 🧘‍♀️

Today is National Stress Awareness Day, a reminder to slow down and check in with yourself. Notice what’s causing stress and take one small step to ease it, whether that’s journaling, going for a walk or setting a healthy boundary.

Help Kentucky Families Stay Fed This November 🍎

The federal shutdown has paused SNAP funding, leaving families across Kentucky struggling to afford groceries. At KVC Kentucky, most of the families we serve rely on SNAP for daily meals and stability. Without it, hundreds face unexpected hardship.

Our Season of Nourishment campaign is stepping in to help fill the gap and keep Kentucky families fed this November.

Our goal: Support the 3,200 individuals we serve each month, 81% of whom are TANF/SNAP eligible, so no family goes hungry.

Happy Halloween from KVC Kentucky!🦖🎃

Even a little rain couldn’t stop the fun at the Trunk or Treat hosted by Eastern Scholar House Program in Richmond on EKU’s campus. We moved indoors, but the costumes, candy and dino-mite community connections made it a roaring good time!

Our team, including Courtney Rader, Marketing Coordinator, and Regional Liaison Abby Shaver, had a blast meeting families and spreading Halloween cheer. 💙

We’re so grateful for the chance to support our local community and make this Halloween extra special for families.

“It’s time to try defying gravity.” 💚

On National Wicked Day, we’re reminded that compassion and courage can change lives including our own. At KVC our vision is for every person to be safe and connected to a strong family and a healthy community.

Today we take a moment to rejocify as we celebrate kindness, connection and the joy that comes from lifting each other up. 💚
