Frances Sipes Bowman
April 19th 1935 – November 5th, 2025
Frances Sipes Bowman, age 90, of Lexington, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025 in Jackson, TN. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Frances lived a life marked by faith, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Born in Tennessee to the late Willie Sipes and Mary Frances Sipes, Frances was preceded in death by her brother, James Sipes Jr.; her son, Danny Renfroe; and her grandson, Jeremy Renfroe.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Devon Bowman; her sister, Betty Jo Sherman; her children, Larry Renfroe and Dolores Massengill Shriver (Dan); and her stepson, Tim Bowman (Wendy). Frances was the proud grandmother of Jody (La Dona) Massengill, Josh (Beth) Massengill, Justin Massengill, Jordan (Ashley) Massengill, Christopher (Michelle) Hood, Jason (Whitney) Renfroe, and Brittany (Jordan) Sinclair. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Gavin (Bridget) Massengill, Jacob (Ireland) Massengill, Jayden (Rebecca) Massengill, La Shay (Joseph) Martin, Blake Hood, Cailynn Cranford, Ava Massengill, Aden Massengill, Jaxxon Massengill, Jaci Massengill, and Beckley Sinclair. She is also lovingly remembered by her step-grandchildren Wesley Bowman (Lydia), Abby Lankford, Emmy Lankford, and four step great-grandchildren. Frances is also survived by her cherished nieces: Leigh, Heather, Lori, and Debra, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Frances retired from Brown Shoe sewing factory and was a faithful member of Natchez Trace Baptist Church in Lexington, where she was shepherded by Rev. Randell Woods. Her love for God was evident in her daily life and in the warmth, she extended to all who knew her. She found joy in the simple pleasures—hosting family dinners, baking her famously delicious cakes, and spending quiet afternoons working puzzles with her husband. Frances cherished these outings as moments of connection and contentment.
Known for her kindness, reliability, and radiant spirit, Frances Bowman was a woman of grace and strength. Her love for others was boundless, and her presence brought comfort and joy to many. She was beautiful inside and out, and her absence leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who loved her. Frances will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
