Y’all look at these amazing Doula women!
In Febuary, we had the privilege of hosting a Doula Circle at the office and had the best time connecting and reconnecting with these ladies! They have been such a rock for so many of our patients and we just want to thank them for all they do! 🤍
✨ Why a Doula should be part of your Birth Team ✨
Birth is one of the most pivotal life experiences you’ll ever have.
Women SHOULD have an empowered and positive birth experience. It truly takes a village and having the right support/birth team/village matters.
Dr. Jenna and I had two entirely different births (IYKYK😂) but the one thing that was a constant was having a doula on our birth team…and there is no way our birth experiences would’ve been the same without her. Shoutout 🫶🏻
A doula provides:
🤍 Emotional support during vulnerable moments
🤍 Physical comfort with positioning, breathing techniques, counter pressure, etc.
🤍 Advocacy & education so you feel informed and confident when your primitive brain kicks in
🤍 Continuity of care during those early postpartum moments
Research consistently shows that doula support is associated with:
✨ Shorter labors
✨ Lower intervention rates
✨ Increased satisfaction with the birth experience
But beyond stats, a doula reminds you of your strength when things feel hard and help you feel seen, heard, and supported — no matter how your birth unfolds. Laura provided that calmness and reassurance for us that we’ll never forget…
When mom’s nervous system feels safe and supported, baby’s does too.
We are so lucky to work with the best of the best Doulas and Midwives in Central Kentucky. Please reach out for recommendations on who may be a great addition to your birth team 🤍
