We’re so excited and truly honored to share that we are the new owners of The Local!

For those who don’t know us yet, we’re the Uretens — Serkan Ureten and Amanda Ureten — along with our 15-month-old son, Oliver. We live right here in Harrodsburg, and we genuinely love calling this place home and having the opportunity to raise our family here. As the owners of Ollie's Sammich Wagon, which was named after our son, being part of the community and showing up for local events has always been important to us, and we’re thrilled to continue that tradition with The Local.

The Local has always been about more than shaved ice — it’s about community, summer traditions, and familiar faces. Our goal is to preserve everything you already love while continuing to serve up the same great treats and welcoming atmosphere. We even have some new items that we can’t wait to share with you!

We’re also excited to share that our good friend and neighbor, Mary Prible, will be helping us run the store. We couldn’t be happier to be taking on this journey with her. She’s a professional baker, and her creativity, insight, and ideas are an added bonus we know you’ll love. You’ll be seeing a friendly, familiar face every time you stop by.

Thank you Bridgette and Phillip for trusting us to carry on your legacy and thank you Harrodsburg for supporting local businesses and for welcoming our family into something so special. We’re so excited to embark on this journey with such a supportive community. We can’t wait to see you soon at The Local!🍧❤️
