Alpha Event Medicine was founded by a partnership of EMS providers, emergency medicine physicians, and ER nurses with a goal of raising the bar for event safety in Kentucky. Our team is composed of a collection of experts with leadership experience providing care at the pinnacle of sports and entertainment, including SEC Football, SEC Basketball, the PGA Tour, NASCAR, IRL, Thoroughbred Racing at t

he most prestigious venues, elite equine events such as the Land Rover Three Day Event, and a wide variety of other mass gatherings. We have a team of paramedics, EMTs, and medical professionals that can provide turnkey solutions to on-site patient care and transport for your public or private event. Our providers are well integrated and connected with local EMS services, emergency departments, and healthcare organizations to provide effective communication and transitions of care.

Events of this scale require an immense amount of logistical preparation. It’s imperative that teams across all aspects of Churchill Downs operations are in constant communication and have plans in place to ensure the safety of attendees, employees, jockeys, and horses.

Fresh off a full renovation, spanning over 750,000 square feet, and home to major national events and conventions, this is a place we’re so excited to be a part of.

Common misconception about Alpha Event Medicine: Some people think we only cover a small number of events each year.

The reality: our teams are staffed 364 days a year, with different providers supporting events and maintaining daily coverage at venues across multiple states.

Thank you to our providers who show up day in and day out, many alongside full-time jobs, to keep this operation running and our venues supported. We’re so grateful for all they do.
