🌟 Weekly Employee Spotlight: Trey Jenkins🌟

Recovery has completely changed Trey’s life, and he has found real purpose in walking alongside others as they discover hope, purpose, and freedom. He’s especially grateful for his Higher Power, whose guidance has made this life possible, and he credits the promises of recovery with showing up in ways he once thought were impossible.

Today, Trey is blessed to be a fully present, engaged, and happy father to his four children. Being able to show up for his family and for those he serves reminds him daily why this work matters so much.

Trey is proud to be part of a team that believes in second chances, growth, and the power of lived experience. He strives every day to lead by example and give back what was so freely given to him.

Thank you, Trey, for the heart, humility, and hope you bring to Lexington Addiction Center. 💛

Happy National Puzzle Day! Kind of a cool day for those of us in recovery, because overcoming addiction and living in recovery is a lot like putting a puzzle together. It comes together one piece at a time and over time. But sometimes some pieces reveal the image more than others. What was that "piece" for you? Even if it was upside down, accidentally left in the box, or the dog was chewing on it while you were working the puzzle (I'm stretching this metaphor way too far), we'd love to hear about an essential piece to your recovery journey puzzle!

Perhaps one of the most difficult yet important lessons to learn, not just in recovery, but in life. Realizing that hardship is simply a part of the human condition helps us stop running from it. When we stop running from it, that's when we start accepting it. By accepting this hard truth, that is true for everyone, that is when we really start moving towards peace.

Mindfulness can be a daily anchor in sobriety. Start with readings for encouragement, take time to reflect, breathe through a short meditation, and write your thoughts down to bring more clarity and track growth.

Community! It's good for the soul, especially when the community has a shared sense of mission and a sense of accountability geared towards building each other up.

If this is something you could use some more of, reflect on what drives you, what you're passionate about, what your gifts are, and what you would like to help others with. Getting into a community where these things can converge pays dividends to the soul. Happy Saturday, everyone!

In our digital age, the speed of communication can be so fast that we may forget to regularly tell the people we care about how important they are to us. A handwritten letter stands out all the more because of this today. It shows someone is worth slowing down for and pouring thought and care into. Besides, who doesn't love a good surprise when they check the mail?
