Today and tomorrow is the best time to prep for the weekend’s wintry weather and get errands checked off!

While we pretreat roads, mobilize equipment, and get ready to deploy nearly 1,500 plow trucks and 300,000+ tons of salt for the snow that’s expected to fall across the state, you can get yourself ready too:

✅ Get groceries.
✅ Fill up your gas tank.
✅ Pack an emergency car kit (first aid, blankets, food, water) for you and your passengers. With dangerously cold temps for days, it’s not only smart but could be life-saving if stranded on the road.

When we opened our Playhouse, we envisioned a space where all of our Tiny Tots could come together to play, learn, and have fun.

We are so excited to introduce our first Sensory-Sensitive Open Play Hour on January 14th!

We will be offering two 1-hour sessions, hosted in partnership with our friends from All God’s Children Pediatric Therapy.

Our mission is to create a calm, welcoming environment with additional supports and resources for children with sensory sensitivities, so every child can enjoy playtime in a way that feels comfortable and safe.

Reservations are required in advance, as space will be smaller and more limited to help maintain a sensory-friendly environment.

Kentucky Falling Behind on I/DD Waiver Waitlists

A recent Open Minds analysis shows that Kentucky is among the worst in the nation for waiting lists for Intellectual & Developmental Disability (I/DD) waiver services.

Despite recent capacity expansion efforts by the Legislature, nearly 13,000 Kentuckians remain on waiver waitlists.

The wait is more than just an inconvenience, it prevents people from getting critical therapies, supports, and housing that they need to live their lives with dignity. This wait has a real human cost: delayed development, increased caregiver burnout, and risk of crisis.

We deserve an I/DD system in Kentucky that meets the needs of all our residents, not one where thousands are left waiting.

We had a spook-tacular time at the ImpactLex Halloween Party today! Staff and clients joined in the fun with creative costumes, fresh-spun cotton candy from Cloud Candy, games, and Raising Cane’s chicken fingers. The Snap Bar photo booth captured all the frightful fun — and a huge thank-you to Bluegrass Hall for providing the perfect venue for our hang out!
