Check out this mini-camp sign language camp and register today! Led by the Speech-Language Pathology Program at Columbia College, Koala Camp is designed for toddlers with disabilities and their parent(s) to learn American Sign Language (ASL) signs for early communication through play.

✨ Therapy Tips & Tricks: Speech Therapy in Everyday Life ✨

Speech therapy doesn’t stop when you leave the clinic! Everyday routines are full of opportunities to build communication skills in fun, natural ways.

Try this:
🧸 Playtime: Model simple words like “ball,” “go,” or “more.”
🍎 Mealtime: Encourage your child to request items using words, signs, or gestures.
🪥 Routines: Practice naming actions during daily tasks like brushing teeth or getting ready for bed.
🌳 Out & About: Talk about what you see together. “I see a bird!” or “Look, a big truck!”

These little moments add up to big communication growth. The best practice often happens right in the middle of everyday life.
