🌟 Employee Anniversary Spotlight🌟
Paula Kearney, Receptionist | January 6, 1986

For 40 years, Paula has been a friendly, familiar face welcoming patients into PCMG. Her kindness, knowledge, and always helpful attitude have made a lasting difference to everyone who walks through our doors. Paula has been a constant presence in our practice, and we are deeply grateful for her dedication, loyalty, and the care she shows each day. We are incredibly lucky to have Paula as part of the PCMG team and are thrilled to celebrate this amazing 40-year milestone. ✨

💬 Get to Know Paula

What led you to work at PCMG?
-“I needed a job, and I knew the administrator. Before coming here, I worked as a secretary at the Presbyterian Church.”

What do you like about working at PCMG?
-“I really like the patients and the relationships I’ve formed with them over the years. I like to think I try to go the extra mile for them. We have a nice variety of patients, and I’ve learned a lot about other cultures. I also like the people I work with. Well… I don’t like change.”

How have things changed over the last 40 years?
-“Now I’m the older person working here! The technology and the overall appearance of the place have changed a lot. I’ve changed too, hopefully for the better but I’m still a little sassy and ornery.”

What’s your favorite food?
-“I don’t have one specific favorite, but I enjoy good food; a good steak, a good burrito, or a good sandwich. I’ve really enjoyed the food growth Lexington has had; we have great food. Mexican, Chinese...it’s all good.”

An interesting place you’ve visited?
-“New York City! I went to visit a girlfriend and saw the Statue of Liberty, went to Times Square, and visited all the major New York landmarks… but I wouldn’t want to live there.”

What’s a fun fact about you that your colleagues might not know?
-“When I was in high school, I participated in Buffalo Bill’s Rodeo Queen Contest in North Platte. I also enjoy seeing and taking photos of Nebraska's beautiful sunrises, sunsets and landscapes.”

What do you like to do on your days off?
-“I enjoy working in the yard or garden and spending time enjoying Mother Nature. I find fulfillment in helping others; whether family, friends, or through church. I value giving more than receiving, though I appreciate both.”

Thoughts about your 40 years at PCMG?
-“I’m shocked I’ve lasted this long! There have been ups and downs and many different co-workers along the way. I’ve formed friendships with them that have continued outside of work. In 40 years, a lot of life events happen, and those experiences help forge deeper, more meaningful relationships with the people you work with. You get to know them like family. Overall, it’s been a good 40 years.”

Paula, thank you for four decades of dedication, compassion, and a little bit of sass, we are so grateful for you! 💜✨

Friday: Twin Day
Twin Day called… and we answered
Matching outfits, strange poses, and just enough awkward to make it official.
Because if you’re going to do Twin Day, you might as well commit to the cringe.😬📸😆

🌟 Employee Anniversary Spotlight: Angie Menchaca, LPN 🌟

Today we proudly celebrate an extraordinary milestone for Angie Menchaca, whose journey with our clinic began on December 19th, 1999. Angie’s story is one of perseverance and growth. She started in reception, she pursued her education, through hard work and determination completed nursing school and became the exceptional Licensed Practical Nurse we know today.

For 26 years, Angie has exemplified what it means to be a team player. Always friendly and dependable. Her commitment to patient care, her compassion, and her deep understanding of our clinic and community makes her an invaluable part of our team.

💬 Get to Know Angie:

How did you get into this field?
- “My Friend Bobbie pushed me. One day she registered me (into nursing school) and said… “Here, this is the date you start school.” 3 years prior I had brought my daughter in for her 6 month well child check; Bobbie (Dr. Ford’s nurse at that time) asked if I was bilingual and needed a job. While I waited for Dr. John Ford, she handed me a job application. I told her I couldn’t do the job, she said “Yes you can!

How has your role evolved since you started at PCMG?
- “I started at the front desk, as a receptionist. I worked at reception for 3 years then was asked if I wanted to be Dr. John Ford’s personal interpreter and assist in his area. I have been working with Dr. Ford for the past 23 years!”

What does your typical workday look like for you?
- “I get to my area and start prepping charts, when done with that I try help other areas. Once my doctor gets here, I get ready for my day to really start. I bring patients back to the rooms, get vitals and a bit more information. Then I put all the information into the patient’s chart. In between patients, I send meds to the pharmacy, call patients back, make referral appointments, send faxes and try to catch up with anything pending from earlier in the day and the day before. I come to work and plan to work hard.”

Where Did you grow up?
- “In California….Porterville. I moved to Nebraska in 1995, and I’ve been here since.”

What’s your favorite way to start the day?
- “With a very large cup of coffee and morning talk shows; if those get boring I get on Tiktok.”

What’s one thing you can’t live without?
- “44oz of Coke, I can’t work without that!”

What’s your go to Karaoke song?
- “Shania Twain’s ‘Man! I feel like a Woman!’ It’s a happy song to get the party started.”

We are beyond proud and grateful to have Angie as part of our PCMG team. Thank you for your many years of service and congratulations on this incredible work anniversary. Here’s to celebrating you today and many more years to come! 💙🎉

Like always, we had a blast at the Annual Light Up Lexington Christmas Parade! ✨🎄

Jingling through downtown and handing out treats, our crew had the best time being Santa’s Little Helpers for the night. The smiles, the laughs, and the energy from the crowd make it worth it every single year!🍬🍭

Huge shoutout to everyone who helped bring our float to life: the decorators, the helpers, the behind-the-scenes magic makers; and of course, everyone who bundled up and came out to have a fun time. You all made the night merry, bright, and full of elf-approved fun!

Can’t wait to jingle our way through again next year! 🛻🎄🎅💚
