Amy Rose Baxley Parker
March 13, 1965 – March 27, 2026

Amy Rose Baxley Parker was welcomed into the arms of Our Lord on March 27, 2026.

Amy was born in Sumter, South Carolina, to the late Rose and James Baxley. Growing up, Amy traveled extensively around the world before her parents settled in Alvin, Texas. As a young woman, she returned to South Carolina, married, and raised her two daughters.

Amy was a creative soul and artist, inspiring a 30+ year career as a floral designer. She humbly left a lasting mark on her community as her arrangements made their way into countless special moments. She was also a gifted pianist, an incredible cook, and a voracious reader.

Amy was a spiritual woman who found comfort and happiness in nature. She enjoyed quiet moments at the beach, watching her backyard birds, and spoiling her fur babies beyond reason. To know Amy is to know her silly, “Texan” sense of humor, her sharp intellect, and her laughter, which was often mischievous.

Her kindness extended to both strangers and loved ones alike. Recently, she found joy in serving the residents of Still Hopes and her newly formed friendships. Above all, Amy’s legacy is the immense love that she had for her family as a Mother, a cherished “Sissy”, and a proud Mimi.

Amy is survived by her loving daughters, Melanie Parker and Natasha Hodges; her son-in-law, Matthew Hodges; her grandbabies, Cara, Ava, and Evan; and her brothers, Richard Baxley and James Baxley.

Amy’s Celebration of Life will be held on April 11th, 2026, at 11:00 AM ET at State Street Baptist Church, 1420 State Street, Cayce, SC 29033. Family and friends are encouraged to attend. In lieu of flowers, we encourage donations to Amy’s preferred causes, St. Jude's Children's Hospital and Pawmetto Lifeline.

Nathan Thomas Rush
July 18, 1997 – March 24, 2026

Nathan Thomas Rush, 28, of Lexington, South Carolina, passed away on March 24, 2026. Nathan was born on July 18, 1997, in Columbia, South Carolina, to Dr. Randy and Susan Rush. He is survived by his parents, Randy and Susan Rush; his brother, Matthew Rush; his grandmother, Glenda Barnett; his uncle, Rusty Rush; Aunts Charla Rush and Lynette Lindell; and seven cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles Rush, Bayard and Patricia Lindell, and his uncle, Stewart Lindell.

Nathan was a force of nature—someone the world wasn’t quite ready for—whose larger-than-life presence left a lasting imprint on everyone he encountered. He loved music, fashion design, and art of all kinds, expressing himself with creativity, passion, and authenticity. A true sneaker enthusiast and avid fan of movies and video games, Nathan brought energy and personality into everything he loved.

He was a big man with an even bigger heart. Nathan was the kind of friend you could count on, someone who would sit with you, listen, and walk with you through whatever you were facing. He loved deeply, cared wholeheartedly, and had a way of lighting up every room he entered. He never met a stranger, and his presence made people feel seen, known, and valued.

Nathan’s life and journey were complex, real, and deeply human. Through his own struggles with substance use, he developed a profound compassion for others. He turned that compassion into purpose, serving as one of the first Recovery Coordinators at The Courage Center and later returning as a Certified Peer Support Specialist. Nathan fought not only for his own life, but tirelessly for the lives of others, offering hope, encouragement, and connection to those in their darkest moments. People of all ages have shared stories of how Nathan showed up for them in times of crisis and helped them find a path forward.

Above all, Nathan loved his family deeply. We will miss his big hugs, his laughter, and the unmistakable presence he brought into our lives. He fought hard to live for those he loved, and we are forever grateful for that fight.

Nathan had a deep faith in Jesus and believed without doubt that life in heaven is greater than anything this world can offer. As people of faith, we hold tightly to the promise that Nathan is now whole, restored, and free from the pain of this world. We rejoice in the hope that we will see him again.

Nathan’s story does not end here. His life, his impact, and his love continue on through the countless people he touched. In many ways, we believe his legacy has only just begun. We love you big time, Nathan.

A service to celebrate Nathan’s life will be held on Tuesday, March 31 at 2:00 PM at Emmaus Church, 5160 Bush River Road, Columbia, South Carolina 29212. A reception will follow the service. More information can be found at www.emmauschurchsc.com. Service will be livestreamed at https://www.youtube.com/

In honor of Nathan’s life and the countless lives he impacted, donations may be made to The Courage Center, a recovery community organization he loved and served, at www.couragecentersc.org.

Kenneth Edward Ray
December 29, 1962 – March 21, 2026

Kenneth Edward Ray, age 63, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 21, 2026, doing what he loved most-fishing on the river.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the bystanders and first responders who acted so quickly, heroically, and diligently in their efforts to save Ken.

Ken was a man of quiet strength, a generous heart, and an unforgettable sense of humor. He didn’t need to say much to make an impact; his kindness and steady presence spoke for him. If there was water nearby or a deer stand to sit in, that’s where you could find him. Hunting and fishing weren’t just hobbies-they were his peace, his joy, and his way of life.

Ken spent many years working as a truck driver before injuries led him to a new path as a school bus driver. It was there that he truly found his calling. He cared deeply for the children he drove each day-watching over them, and forming quiet bonds that meant the world to him. They held a special place in his heart.

In his spare time, Ken also enjoyed working on guns for others, always willing to lend his skill and help however he could. That was simply who he was-steady, capable, and always giving.

He is survived by his loving mother, Janie Evelyn Ray, his sisters Karen Ray Crouch (Chuck Crouch) and Kathy Ray Deans (Bobby Deans); numerous friends and many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly. One especially sweet memory shared by the family is of his two-year-old great-nephew, who visited him just three days before his passing. After returning home, Ian found a pair of scissors, cut his own hair, and told his mother he wanted to look just like Uncle Ken-a small but meaningful reflection of the love he inspired. He was preceded in death by his father, Bert B. Ray Jr. and by his sister Janet Ray Fallaw (John Fallaw).

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home located at 503 N Lake Dr. Lexington, South Carolina, with visitation starting at 11:30 a.m. prior to the service beginning at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Celestial Memorial Gardens located at 3111 Delree St, West Columbia, South Carolina.

Ken will be remembered for his quiet ways, his generous spirit, and the simple, genuine life he lived. There is a comfort knowing he spent his final moments in a place he loved, doing exactly what brought him peace.

Joy Munnerlyn
December 27, 1953 – March 18, 2026

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.
With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Joy Munnerlyn, a woman whose warmth and bright spirit touched everyone she met. Joy never met a stranger—only friends she hadn’t yet made. Her kindness was effortless, her laughter contagious, and her presence was a light that filled every room.

Though she was 72 years old, Joy carried herself with the energy and joy of someone decades younger, never seeming to age beyond 35 in spirit. She embraced life fully, finding happiness in the simplest moments and sharing that joy freely with others.

Joy was the daughter of the late Sam Ralston Smith and the late Mary Ellen Laird Smith.

She was a successful and driven businesswoman who took great pride in her work. Over the years, she owned and operated Lexington Interiors, Lexington Beauty Supply, Sun Your Bunz/The Body Tan, and The Purple Plum in Lexington. More recently, she owned Charleston Fireworks in Charleston, South Carolina, and was the proud owner of Country Park in Edmund.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Dr. Christopher Brent Munnerlyn and his wife, Lindsey Munnerlyn of Lexington; and her daughter, Lori Munnerlyn and her husband, Marty Beutler of North. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Christian Munnerlyn, Marine Corps Sergeant (retired), and his wife Lena of Lexington; Drayton Beutler of North; Ivy Munnerlyn and her fiancé, Petty Officer Second Class Jackson Rehfuss, United States Coast Guard, of Key West, Florida; Shelton Munnerlyn of Lexington; and Ainsley Munnerlyn of Key West, Florida.

Joy was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Wrenley Kate Munnerlyn and Lyla Munnerlyn, both of Lexington.

She is further survived by several cousins, including two very close cousins, Rita Tindal of Wagner-Salley and Tracey Bazemore of Pelion. She also leaves behind many dear friends who were like family to her: Patti Royal of Lexington, Ada Brixhoff of Santee, Jasper Lloyd, Jr. of West Columbia, Sandra Simmons of Lexington, Cindy Larrabee Clark of West Columbia, Richard Taylor of West Columbia, Kerry Basden of Lexington, and Linda Rutland of Lexington. Joy had countless friends whom she loved dearly—far too many to mention.

Her one true love and loyal companion, her Shih Tzu Riley Reese, has now made his sister Lori’s house his forever home, but he will miss his mother deeply.

Honorary pallbearer will be Jasper Lloyd, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Robby Holliman, Richard Derrick, Richard Taylor, Rodney Royals, and Jeremiah Brydon.

A graveside service will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery in Pelion on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Life Care Center of Columbia for the excellent care provided to Joy during her stay, and especially to Nurse Lillian for the extra care and attention she showed to Joy, as well as the comfort she gave to Joy’s children during this difficult time.

Joy will be remembered not only for the love she gave so freely, but for the way she made others feel—seen, welcomed, and cherished. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she brightened, as well as in the many businesses and communities she helped build.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
