It was a pleasure to recognize Donna Morris at KSHA as she received the Honors of the Association Award. For more than four decades, Donna has made a meaningful impact on our profession in Kentucky as a clinician, educator, leader, and mentor. From her early work in the public schools to clinical practice and her many years at the University of Kentucky, she has helped prepare and guide generations of speech-language pathologists. Her influence extends well beyond the classroom into schools, hospitals, clinics, and communities across the state. What sets Donna apart is not only her accomplishments, but the way she approaches her work. She develops clinicians who are skilled, client-centered, compassionate, and confident. Congratulations, Donna — this recognition is well deserved.

Attention Kentucky SLPs and Audiologists:

ASHA has distributed a Take Action campaign regarding SB 177. KSHA wants to clarify that the current version of SB 177 includes:

• A pathway to direct full licensure for qualified graduates
• A pathway for clinicians seeking Interstate Compact participation

KSHA has been actively engaged with legislative partners and stakeholders throughout this process. We encourage members to review information shared directly by KSHA before taking action.

We remain committed to transparent communication and protecting access to care in Kentucky.
