Not much beats a night like this. The Wildcat Battalion’s Military Ball was a strong reminder of the tradition and purpose behind what we do. We were extremely honored to have MAJ John Howell as our guest speaker, we watched our MSIVs walk down the Saber Arch, and MSI CDT Scoville contracting made it a night to remember!

Day 3 of the Wildcat Battalions JFTX focused on platoon STX lanes. These are tactical scenarios where the platoon executes missions while being evaluated on leadership, communication, and how they’ve applied what they’ve learned from our tactical field labs so far.

We ran lanes for an attack, movement to contact, raid, and ambush. Each one required coordination across squads, clear guidance from leadership, and the ability to adjust as situations changed. The MSIIIs were evaluated with SOAR cards to get immediate feedback to replicate CST. The MSIs and MSIIs had the chance to be integrated with the MSIIIs to see how everything works at the platoon level and learn from those in leadership roles. It was a great chance to see how everything comes together at the platoon level!

Day 2 at JFTX was all about land navigation, with two full iterations of day land nav followed by night land nav that challenged every cadet to stay sharp and confident. MS1s and MS2s had the opportunity to tackle points alone or work together to build their skills, while MS3s went solo to prepare for CST and prove they can operate independently. As the sun went down, the lanes got tougher, but our cadets stayed disciplined, trusted their training, and continued to perform. Land navigation is a vital fundamental skill and remains essential to Army operations, building confidence, independence, and the ability to lead in any environment.

Great job Wildcats!
