Winter Weather Update ❄️

Due to ongoing winter weather and road conditions, Bluegrass Orthopaedics & BGONow Orthopedic Urgent Care locations in Morehead and Somerset will be closed on Tuesday, January 27.

All other Bluegrass Orthopaedics locations will remain open and operating under normal business hours.

If you had an appointment scheduled at our Somerset or Morehead location, a member of our team will be reaching out to help reschedule.

Due to winter weather and road conditions, all Bluegrass Orthopaedics and BGONow Orthopedic Urgent Care locations will be closed on Monday, January 26.

UPDATE 3:11pm 1/25: The Bluegrass Specialty Surgery Center will also be closed Monday, January 26. Patients scheduled for surgery will be contacted to be rescheduled.

The safety of our patients and staff remains our top priority. If you were scheduled to be seen on Monday, our team will reach out to you tomorrow to reschedule your appointment.

We’re closing out the year with one more well-deserved retirement celebration. 🎉

After 20 years with Bluegrass Orthopaedics, today we celebrate Dr. William O’Neill as he sees his final patient and begins his next chapter. For two decades, he provided expert care, steady leadership, and genuine compassion to patients across Kentucky. Throughout his career, Dr. O’Neill has accomplished many remarkable feats, including serving as one of the chief surgeons on the transplant team that performed two of the first three human hand transplants in the United States, a testament to his skill, innovation, and pioneering spirit.

Known around our halls as the biggest Notre Dame fan we know, Dr. O’Neill brought both excellence and personality to everything he did. Thank you for the lives you’ve impacted, the trust you’ve built, and the lasting legacy you leave with our team and the communities we serve.

Congratulations on an incredible career, Dr. O’Neill, and cheers to a retirement filled with relaxation, joy, and plenty of time cheering on Notre Dame. ☘️
