Society for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology SOAP provides a forum for discussion of problems unique to the peripartum period.

The Society for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology (SOAP) was founded in 1968 to provide a forum for discussion of problems unique to the peripartum period. SOAP is comprised of anesthesiologists, obstetricians, pediatricians, and basic scientists who share an interest in the care of the pregnant patient and the newborn.

Last month, we hosted SOAP PEAK on Obstetric Anesthesia and Quality Improvement, bringing together clinicians, and leaders committed to advancing maternal care.

We reviewed emerging QI trends, discussed new trajectories for data-driven improvement, and explored practical strategies to reduce maternal morbidity and improve outcomes—with an emphasis on equity and evidence-based practice.

We’re grateful for the thoughtful engagement and the shared commitment to driving meaningful change in obstetric care. Looking forward to continuing the momentum.
