Now Offering at LRHC: Coronary Calcium Scoring
Heart disease can build silently for years—often before symptoms begin. LRHC is now offering Coronary Calcium Scoring, a quick, non-invasive CT scan that helps assess your risk for future heart disease and heart attack.
âś” No contrast dye
âś” No needles
âś” Fast scan
âś” Helps guide early prevention

This test measures calcium buildup in the heart’s arteries and gives your provider valuable insight to guide conversations about lifestyle changes, exercise, and cholesterol management, before problems start.

If you’re between 30–55 years old, especially with cholesterol levels between 70–180, this scan can be an important tool in deciding next steps for your heart health.

đź’¬ Talk with your primary care provider to see if a coronary calcium score is right for you.

National Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, April 25!
It’s a great reminder to clean out your medicine cabinet and safely get rid of unused or expired medications.

✅ Good news: you don’t have to wait for one day a year. We have a secure medication take-back box available year-round in our front lobby — just stop in any time our front doors are open and drop off your meds.
What to bring: tablets/capsules/patches and other medications you no longer need.

✔️ Quick tip: Consider removing or blacking out personal info on prescription labels before dropping items off.

Let’s keep our homes safer and our community healthier. 💚

Our Story

Lexington Regional Health Center, formerly Tri-County Hospital, opened in September of 1976. The hospital began with 40 beds. Lexington Regional Health Center is a political subdivision, now 25-bed critical access hospital offering inpatient, outpatient, surgical, emergency and obstetric services. The hospital is operated by a five-member board whose members are elected by the hospital district.

Lexington Regional expanded its services with the opening of a walk-in Urgent Care in September 2011. Care was added to Lexington Regional’s array of services so that people would have access to non-emergency medical attention after regular office hours. It also provides a less costly alternative to a typical Emergency Room visit.

In May 2013, Lexington Regional starting offering on-site emergency room coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Lexington Regional's success is based on its commitment to quality physician leadership allowing physicians to provide evidence-based care in a cost effective manner. The positive impact has been seen in Lexington Regional's most recent overall ratings of the Emergency Department.
