Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – Pain Management Clinic
Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Bux Pain Management is a patient-centered interventional pain practice dedicated to improving quality of life for individuals living with chronic pain. With 1–2 providers and a busy schedule of 25+ patients per day, we offer minimally invasive, personalized treatments across multiple Kentucky locations. We are currently seeking a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our close-knit clinical team in our office-based setting.
Position Summary
In this vital role, you will work directly with our providers to deliver compassionate care in a fast-paced pain management environment. You will be responsible for rooming patients, taking vital signs, preparing for procedures, and supporting the overall flow of the clinic.
Key Responsibilities
• Room patients efficiently and accurately document chief complaints, medical history, current medications, and vital signs
• Assist with in-office interventional procedures (setup, patient positioning, and support during injections/nerve blocks)
• Handle prior authorizations for medications and procedures
• Schedule follow-up appointments, referrals, and coordinate care with other providers
• Perform medication reconciliation and provide basic patient education on pain management plans
• Maintain clean and organized exam/procedure rooms
• Scribe or document in the electronic medical record as directed
• Support front-office tasks as needed in our small-team environment
Qualifications
Required:
• Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a CMA in a medical office or clinical setting
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs, and clinical workflows
• Excellent computer skills and comfort with EMR systems
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to support our multi-location practice as needed
Preferred:
• Experience in pain management, orthopedics, or any specialty dealing with chronic conditions
• Familiarity with prior authorizations, referrals, and procedure setup
• Phlebotomy or EKG experience is a plus
