Hey All!!

Participation Station will finally be OPEN tomorrow, Wednesday, February 11th!! but...the sidewalk leading up to our front door has been cleared off pretty well, but the parking lot to the right of the building is still extremely slick. So if you are driving, you may have to park a ways away to not be at risk of falling on the ice. It is supposed to rain tonight, so that could be a good thing or a bad thing...we shall see in the morning. Again, if you do not feel safe traveling, DO NOT DO SO.

Thanks,
Val

Hello Again!!

Participation Station is CLOSED again TOMORROW TUESDAY FEB 10th even though the last I heard, Fayette County Schools will be on a 2 hour delay.. Our cul-de-sac is still too slick for anyone to be walking or driving on. I am hoping that with the temperatures rising today and tomorrow that conditions will improve and we will be able to reopen soon.
Please watch our page, lex18.com, wkyt.com and email from me to get the latest information about our open/close status.

Track Leaders:
You may pick up your checks at the NAMI Lexington Office on Booker St. tomorrow between 10a-Noon or Wednesday at Participation Station at 10am as long as we are open. If you would like your check mailed to you, contact our NAMI Lexington Office at (859) 272-7891.

Again, be safe out there...

Hi Everyone!
Just got the news that Fayette County is CLOSED tomorrow, Monday, Feburary 9th. I was getting ready to let everyone know that Participation Station would be CLOSED whether Fayette County was or not. Our cul-de-sac is basically impassible. My husband drove me over there today in his 4 wheel drive to do my part of payroll. I made it to the front door walking really slow being scared with every step that I was going to fall, but I made it, Whew! The place that I regularly park my car is a solid sheet of ice! I know several staff have put down ice melt on the sidewalk, but I think it has just been too cold to make much difference. I am SO afraid that anyone who comes to Participation Station will fall. It's really NOT SAFE. I know our normal rule is that if Fayette County is closed then we are closed but in these circumstances, please watch here on Facebook, wlex18.com, wkyt.com and my email to see if we are closed as we may be closed although Fayette County may choose to be open.
As always...stay safe and warm!

Hi Everyone!

Due to our cul de sac being iced over and extremely dangerous, Participation Station has decided to be CLOSED FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK, Feb 4th - Feb 8th. This decision has been made different than Fayette County Schools. We are a very small court so we have not been on the top of the list of areas to be plowed. I hope that as the temperatures start to rise, our court will start to melt and we will be able to open next week. Please check emails from me, Facebook, lex18.com and wkyt.com for the latest updates.

Have a safe rest of the week and weekend...
Val

Hey. It's Your Broken Record,

Just saw on Facebook...Fayette County Schools are CLOSED TOMORROW, Tuesday, February 3rd so Participation Station is CLOSED too. If you all did not hear, the groundhog predicted 6 more weeks of winter...this is all his fault!! lol I am SO ready for spring...I went out to an appointment this morning and the side road I was on was still not cleaned off all the way and was pretty slick, so I kinda understand why the decision was made to keep kiddos home. It may look OK on some of the main roads, but many of the others are still messy. Please be careful if you must go out and of course don't forget to dress in layers because it's not warm yet.
Like I say, I sound like a broken record by now, but I really want you all to be safe!

I hope to see you all soon...

Hello Again Friends...

Fayette County Schools just announced on their page that they will be CLOSED tomorrow, Monday February 2nd SO Participation Station will be CLOSED too. A lot of roads are still in really bad shape and it is still really, really cold outside. I think the temperatures are supposed to at least get above freezing later this week. Let's hope that darn Groundhog does not see its shadow tomorrow so we will have an early spring... if you believe in that kinda thing. lol

Again, Please be safe and warm..
I hope to see you soon...

I am glad that Fayette County Schools decided to CLOSED for the REST OF THE WEEK, THURSDAY, January 29th and FRIDAY, January 30th.Participation Station will be CLOSED TOO. I'd hate for kids to be out in the freezing cold waiting on the bus as well as all of you all who get out in the weather to come to Participation Station. We love having you here, but I want you to be safe first. I hope everyone is wrapped up in a blanket with a cup of hot cocoa or coffee...I know you all LOVE coffee!

I hope we can see each other in person next week..
As always...be careful out there,
Val

HI Peeps!!
Guess What?
I just heard...Fayette County Schools just announced that they will be CLOSED tomorrow, Wednesday, January 28th so Participation Station will be CLOSED. This weather is brutal! The arctic cold temperatures are just unbelievable. This morning the wind chill at my house was -11 degrees. That's not safe for anyone to be outside for any amount of time. PLEASE STAY INSIDE WHERE IT'S WARM.
Loves and safety to all,
Val
