Our Story
The BioMotion Lab is run by Dr. Brian Noehren, Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy in the College of Health Sciences at the University of Kentucky.
The lab is dedicated to the research of common lower extremity injuries such as running injuries and mechanics, orthopedic injuries and muscle function.
We use advanced motion capture technology and MRI muscle imaging techniques to uncover the underlying mechanisms of injury. Discoveries made are then directly translated to new and innovative rehabilitation treatments that can be implemented in the clinic.
Our lab collaborates with computer scientists, muscle physiologists, MRI physicists, and orthopedic surgeons. The lab is operated by and provides training for undergraduate researchers, physical therapy graduate students, post doctoral fellows and orthopedic residents.
Our research is funded by both federal and foundation grants.
