“How much do you charge?”
☀️ Yesterday while I put in an 8 hr day for $0, it got me thinkingabout a common question that can raise eyebrows when answered… “How much do you charge for cleaning?”
💰 We charge per job, based on the amount of time we expect it will take to clean your home or business. We make that calculation at ABOUT $50/hr. For example, a house that takes approximately 4 hours to clean is a $200 flat rate….
🏡 What this means is, if your kids have been away at summer camp, and 3 bedrooms and 1 bath don’t need attention that week, it’s still $200. If you hosted a birthday party over the weekend, and the house is covered in glitter and cupcake icing which causes us to stay an extra hour…. still $200. You (and I) will always know what to expect for payment.
🤔 Why $50/hr? That seems like a lot to some…. It is for an hourly wage. However more than our labor is going into providing you with a consistent and dependable service that is well prepared and legally covered at all times.
✅We have both Liability and Workman’s Comp Ins that is paid annually.
✅We provide all supplies needed for the job, which requires time for inventory and shopping, along with the cost.
✅We come equipped with clean rags and mop heads to every house/business. That takes time to wash dry and fold, along with extra detergent and bleach.
✅We have to keep office hours for our bookkeeping, scheduling, invoicing, etc.
✅ We spend time advertising, promoting, and giving estimates.
✅We’ve had employees in the past, and may again in the future, which means we have to be able to offer them a livable wage while still maintaining our other responsibilities.
❗️A lot more goes into our job than just cleaning.
🥇 Are there ppl that will do it for cheaper? Absolutely. And I’m sure they do a fine job. However with Kristall Klean, your not paying an individual for housecleaning, your paying a small business for a service.
📣 Last but not least, on behalf of ALL professional cleaners….cleaning is a skill, just like any other. I have 20 years experience in efficiency, safety, and perfection when it comes to being responsible for another persons home or business. I am knowledgable of products and techniques, that make me qualified to provide this service at this rate, and I will always advocate for individuals that work hard making other people’s lives easier, to be paid well for their craft.

💯 One thing I left out of the post is that we (both my husband and I) are very proficient. We have systems that keep us moving at a good pace, while still paying attention to the details. We can actually get ALOT of work done in 4-5 hours. Which is whats important…. the job, not the amount of time we spend doing it. ☺️
