It is recognized that research is essential to understand expo

sure risk and to find improved interventions and treatments that will benefit those exposed in Libby and across the nation. CARD's primary research objective is to facilitate effective types of health-related research within the Libby community in a way that will be beneficial and respectful to community members and researchers. CARD and the Libby community realize that “CARD Research is a Community Project”. The time is now to move from Crisis to Cure.

Do you have an upcoming event where you and your friends are interested in having an educational information booth from CARD present. Maybe a high school reunion of a class that had family working in the mine or the mill in the 70s, 80s or 90's. Most of the people in those classes as well as many from later or ealier classes are likely eligible for a Free Asbestos Health Screening due to their exposure history within Lincoln County MT. A Big Thank You to the Lincoln County Community for coming out to our Open House yesterday afternoon. It was a great day for the outdoor ribbon cutting by CARD Board Member Leroy Thom and all the people who came to celebrate with us. Dr. Bailey and his wife got to meet several of the participants and screeners here in Libby and the community got to meet with the ATSDR Grant people as well. Thank You Everyone who continues to support CARD in its efforts to provide Free Asbestos Health Screenings to those exposed to Libby Amphibole Asbestos while living, working or recreating within Lincoln County MT at least 10 years ago. Feel free to stop by our clinic at 118 W 3rd St., Libby MT Monday thru Wednesday 8AM - 5PM to see the clinic or to make a free asbestos screening appointment. Tomorrow afternoon is your chance to come in and see the CARD Clinic in it's new location at 118 W 3rd Street, Libby MT 59923. Come join in on the festivities, Ribbon Cutting at 3:15PM. Meet our new provider, our granting agency, and make sure to pick up an application for screening and make your appointment while you're here. There will also be refreshments and prize giveaways between 3-5PM.
