We had some energetic and happy helpers on site today as Ashley with Two Naughty Chickens Ranch-Lampasasa, TX spent the day with our patients.

Ashley demonstrated to our patients how to trim hooves and reviewed maintenance of caring for a goat. Our Recreational Therapist, Jackie, was excited to assist in the demonstrations.

Celebrating Recreational Therapy Month.

At Meridell Achievement Center, we recognize the impact Recreational Therapy can have on the well-being of our patients. Recreational Therapy uses activities like sports, arts and crafts, music, dance and outdoor experiences to support physical, emotional and social health.

Our certified recreational therapists design personalized programs that help:

Understanding behavioral disorders in children starts with recognizing that these conditions can look different from child to child.
