Most of us look forward to the excitement of another football season. My experience as an SEC football player showed me the physical toll that playing football can have on the body. The sport regularly sees a myriad of injuries including head, neck, back, ankle, knee, and others. From my experience as a player, I saw first hand the vital role that chiropractic care can play in keeping athletes on the field by treating current injuries, and preventing future injuries. All 32 NFL teams, and most major NCAA football teams have full time staff chiropractic physicians that regularly treat their players.
According to a 2016 survey of trainers from all 32 NFL teams 77% of their players received regular chiropractic care as part of their training regimen. Here are several of the advantages that the panel of NFL trainers listed that their football players gained from regular chiropractic care. Improved mobility, decreased recovery time, injury prevention, and management of routine pain and soreness. If you have a football player that could also benefit from these things, give Dr. Weathers a call at 601- 657-8850.
