In honor of Long-Term Care Administrator Week, we gifted Stephanie a bundle of her favorite things—because she gives her all! 🌟 Born in Amite County, Stephanie’s journey took her to away to the big cities, but she returned to her hometown. With her daughter, Bryanna, studying social work and her son, Ethan, finishing his senior year of high school right here in Liberty, she’s deeply rooted in our community. She’s not just back—she’s leading us forward. 💐

We enjoyed an evening of music, laughter, and mini apple pies with cool whip. There was a moment of silence due to the exceptional cuisine. We appreciate our employees who joined us to savor the food and lend a helping hand.

Happy National Hug Your Dog Day! 🐾

Our staff showed off their furry best friends today, and most of them understood the assignment… hug the dog. 🐶

You may notice one staff member standing very politely next to her dog instead. Don’t worry, she absolutely loves her pup. She just prefers her dog well trained and her clothes completely free of dog hair. Priorities. ✨

Hug them tight today… or stand beside them with dignity. Either way, dogs still think we’re their favorite humans. 💙

This morning's tic tac toe trivia game was an entertaining staff versus residents showdown, filled with laughter and excitement, and the prizes awarded at the end were the perfect finale to a fantastic event.

After 24.5 years of keeping our kitchen running like a well seasoned symphony, today we celebrated the one and only Ms. Debbie Weaver as she retires from her role as Dietary Manager at Liberty Community Living Center. 💛🍽️

The dining room has seen thousands of plates pass through her hands, but today it was overflowing with something even better than food. It was overflowing with love.

Current staff and former employees gathered side by side to honor the woman who taught, led, corrected, encouraged, and fed us all. There was laughter that echoed down the halls. There were tears that snuck up on us. Stories were told from years ago that somehow feel like yesterday. We even paused to remember those no longer with us, whose memories still sit at our tables.

Ms. Debbie was showered with gifts including a beautiful plaque, a gorgeous necklace, and other thoughtful surprises, plus plenty of food and cake because it would not be a proper Dietary celebration without both. 🎂✨

Her husband and sisters were there to watch her be celebrated, which made it all the sweeter. When asked what she plans to do on her very first day of retirement, she smiled and said she is going to sleep and leave her phone turned off. Her husband quickly chimed in that she will probably be making him a to do list instead. We believe both statements can be true. 😉

Ms. Debbie, thank you for 24.5 years of early mornings, holiday meals, last minute fixes, steady leadership, and the kind of dedication that cannot be written into a job description. Liberty will never taste quite the same without you, but your recipes, your standards, and your love are woven into this place forever.

Enjoy your rest. You have earned every single minute of it. 💛

Today, we passed the time with a game of magnets and strings that was both fun and somewhat tedious, and we had many laughs.

🧠🎤 TRIVIA FIGHT: Residents vs. Staff 🎤🧠
It was a battle of brains.
A duel of knowledge.
A showdown sharper than the cafeteria’s plastic forks.
Residents came in focused… brows furrowed, eyes squinted, channeling their inner game show champions. You could practically hear the gears turning. 🔍💭
Meanwhile, staff?
Half answering questions… half “encouraging” the residents with totally innocent commentary like:
“Y’all KNOW this one!”
and
“We just talked about this in 1972!” 😏
The competition was fierce. The tension? Thicker than gravy on Sunday lunch.
🏆 Staff Champion: Lundyn, our very own Social Worker and apparently part-time trivia assassin. She came in smiling sweet… left with the crown. 👑
🏆 Resident Champion: Jimmy! Calm, collected, and dropping correct answers like confetti. 🎉
Let’s just say… the staff may have won some points, but the residents won the crowd. And possibly the rematch.

Sunshine + Golden Oldies + Bubbles = pure magic ✨🎶🫧

Today our gazebo turned into a little time machine. The speakers were playing the golden oldies, the weather was showing off, and before we knew it… bubbles were floating through the air like tiny disco balls.

Residents were tapping their toes, humming along, and reaching up to pop bubbles like kids on summer break. When the sun shines like that, you don’t stay inside… you grab a chair, turn up the music, and let the good times roll.

Some were singing.
Some were laughing.
Some were just soaking it all in.

Days like this are the sweet ones. 🌤️

🎉🎂 Birthday Bash + Cake = Pure Happiness! 🎂🎉
A huge THANK YOU to Dignity Hospice for providing the delicious birthday cake for our monthly celebration and for jumping right in to help serve our residents. Y’all didn’t just bring dessert… you brought smiles with frosting on top! 🍰💛
Our staff showed up as always with laughter, extra helping hands, and the kind of joy that makes a party feel like family. From cutting cake to helping residents enjoy every last bite, it was teamwork at its sweetest.
And let’s talk about that raffle! 🎟️ Some very lucky staff and residents went home with adorable stuffed animals. Let’s just say a few new “roommates” were claimed today, and we may or may not have seen some competitive raffle strategies unfolding. 🧸😂
Another month, another beautiful celebration filled with love, laughter, and just the right amount of icing. 💕
