We get asked all the time about the accuracy of blood tests! Why can gender blood tests sometimes be wrong?

Early gender blood tests are usually very accurate but there are a few reasons results can occasionally be off:

-Testing too early when there isn’t enough fetal DNA yet
-Contamination with male DNA (one of the most common causes of a false “boy” result)
-Lab or sample handling errors
-A vanishing twin early in pregnancy
-Low fetal DNA levels in the sample

While these situations are rare, they can happen which is why confirmation with ultrasound or a clinical test is always recommended!

This sweet baby is about to be out of the first trimester!

“Morning sickness” can be a little misleading… because for many moms, it can last all day!

It got its name because nausea is often noticed first thing in the morning when your stomach is empty. But pregnancy hormones like hCG and progesterone are working around the clock, which means the nausea can show up morning, noon, or night.

The good news? For many moms, those symptoms start to improve around 12 weeks as hormone levels begin to level out.

Pregnancy is amazing… but sometimes it definitely comes with a few not-so-glamorous side effects!

Not your typical day “at the office” 😜

So much fun getting to scan a pig for the first time at 1410 Farms! It was incredible seeing just how similar pig anatomy is to the babies we scan every day.

Getting those perfect 3D/4D baby face images takes a little teamwork!

There are several factors that help us capture those sweet details! No hands or feet in front of baby’s face, a good pocket of fluid, and baby in a nice profile position. While the perfect image may not happen instantly, with time, patience, and a few techniques to encourage baby to move, we can usually get them to strike a pose!

Did you know that babies start swallowing amniotic fluid around 16–20 weeks of pregnancy?

Here’s why it’s so important:
Supports digestion: The fluid moves through the baby’s stomach and intestines, helping them grow and prepare for feeding after birth.
Develops the lungs: Babies “practice breathing” by moving amniotic fluid in and out, helping their lungs mature.
Maintains healthy fluid balance: The baby swallows the fluid, absorbs it, and releases it as urine creating a continuous natural cycle in the womb.

By late pregnancy, a baby can swallow about 1.5-3 cups per day!
