The (Obvious) Secret
Why are so many of us stuck? Why when we do all the right things for our prosperity and abundance do we struggle? We have all the self-help books and tapes, we go to classes, pray and meditate. We have watched THE SECRET several times and we understand the law of attraction. How do you attract what you want in life be it relationship, health, or wealth etc.? What is the missing link? Through the School of Metaphysics (and having it stare me in the face in a recent article) I’ve come across my missing ingredient and as the saying goes, “It’s simple but it’s not easy.”
The way to do this is to consistently visualize what we what we want and stop thinking about what we don’t want. The “stop thinking about what you don’t want” can be trickier than thinking about what you do want. “What you don’t want” may be buried under many layers in your subconscious. Like and old Frenemy it’s there and has become your comfort zone. It’s the underlaying, “I could never do that,” or “I’m not good enough” or “Things never work out for me.” I’m sure you can come up with your own. Maybe it just takes the form of anxiety in your everyday life.
So, I have started visualizing everything with the outcome I desire and it’s making a difference. I’m focusing on the outcome I want rather than the underlying “what I don’t want.”
Mom always said I was a late bloomer and maybe I’m telling you something you already know. The question is, are you doing it? Are you visualizing what you want in your life to the point where there’s no room for any other possibility? Are you feeling the emotion behind it? Jot down the next three things you are going to do today and visualize a positive outcome. It doesn’t matter what it is. It can be anything from talking with your child, to an important business project you are working on. The point is to exercise your mind in that direction and see how visualizing can make a difference.
I have a Top 10 list of things I really want or want to accomplish in my life. I’m experimenting by working with it every day and visualizing each item. By doing this I’m either putting in action steps to accomplish each item or I’m taking it off the list if it turns it turns out to be not as strong a desire as I originally thought. In that case I add something new and if I can’t think of 10 things, number 10 is always, “I want to be a wizard.” (How cool would that be).
