Jessica Affholder, LPN-LNHA, Administrator of Licking Residential Care, recently expressed her gratitude for the exceptional care she received from Madison Graeff, RN, in our emergency department.

"I wanted to share some feedback about one of your staff members, Madison Graeff, following an early morning visit with one of our residents.

First, the feedback from the L1MA on shift was five stars. She mentioned that Madison was very polite, thorough, and informative. Communication is often where gaps occur, but Madison excelled in this area with my staff member. When I arrived to transport our resident after discharge, Madison took the time to come to the waiting room to discuss the treatment plan, including the diagnostic report in the discharge packet. She reviewed the physician's instructions with both the resident and me. Madison was patient, kind, and extremely professional. She never seemed rushed and took the time to update me on the status of our resident. This particular resident can sometimes be cantankerous, a tough critic, but stated that her nurse, Madison, was very good and nice to her.

Unfortunately, service excellence is becoming less common these days; however, Madison restored my faith today. I wanted to provide this positive feedback and thank you for having such an incredible nurse on your team!"

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us, Jessica! We truly appreciate your trust in TCMH for your residential medical needs.

We were incredibly blessed by Cadrian Hutsell who came and sang beautiful Christmas songs to our residents. We cannot thank her and her little sister sidekick enough for the joy they brought to our residents this holiday season!

I will post a picture of her song cover in the comments! Please go check her out and give her some support!

I actually didn’t catch a single photo from our Christmas gift exchange this morning. We were too busy being in the moment with the residents to have our phones handy.

However, we started the Christmas magic with these wonderful ladies pictured below from Boone Creek Baptist Church who brought in a TON of goodies for our residents to choose from. They could pick a gift for themselves and/or their loved ones. These ladies wrapped and bagged the gifts for our residents. We cannot thank you wonderful gals enough for the Christmas cheer you spread this morning!

After that, we got all warmed up with some hot chocolate while ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas poem was read followed by the true story of Christmas as the Bible tells it in the book of Luke.

Once we heard the story of the birth of Jesus, we opened gifts.. one person at a time. We were able to share the gifts received with our whole community family.

Tears of joy and gratitude were shed by many as the Christmas magic happened. I am blessed and thankful to be a small part of our big family 🤍

We attended a funeral service this afternoon for a resident of our building that passed on to Heaven. She lived with us for nearly 6 months. During that short time, we got to know her and even more - love her. Her family became ours and we loved and cared for them as well.

She was a true warrior for Christ and wasn’t afraid to tell you the cold, hard truth of Jesus’s love for you. She didn’t hold back but spoke every word with love.

Some of her favorite sayings that we could never hear enough of were, “I love you, but Jesus loves you more” and “do they pay you to smile like that?” and “are you crazy?”

I miss her. I know her family misses her.

If you were able to squeeze into the doors of the funeral home today to attend the service, you know.. there was barely even standing room left.

Every chair was filled. The aisles were filled with people standing. The overflow room was filled. Extra chairs were plucked from other rooms to ensure those who couldn’t stand for the entire service, had a place to sit and rest.

As I looked around and seen the mass amount of folks who came to say give their respects to her and family, I was moved. Moved because each and every one of those people had been blessed by her at some point in time or another. Her impact left such an impression on so many that even many years later, her touch was still felt.

She left a legacy. A legacy that speaks of Gods love. She never passed up an opportunity to share the love He had given her with others. Her impact will live on for generations.

This is how we should all wish we are remembered. We should want to be remembered by hundreds for the love we freely give to each person. We should want to have the chairs, aisles, and overflow rooms filled with the people who we hope to leave an impression on.

When we wake up tomorrow morning, on your way to work or out to do errands.. make sure you share God with someone. Leave someone better than you found them and the easiest way to do that, is share God’s love.

We were PROUD to have these high school kids who are participating in a community service project, come and hang out at our building today!

These students:

- played BINGO
- helped residents pick out and try on Halloween costumes
- helped decorate for our Halloween party
- helped prepare candy bags for tomorrow
- served our residents lunch and drinks
- played horseshoes with our residents

But most importantly, they spent TIME with our community.. they got to know the residents and the assignment was to learn something from the generations we are privileged to serve.

Our residents absolutely loved having these kids in the building and have extended a lasting invitation to each of the students to come back!

It’s a testament to the teachers and these children’s parents - we had the most respectful group of teenagers here today. They were ready and willing to jump in to help and open up their hearts to our residents.

Thank you from the bottom of our heart for allowing the kids to come and for choosing our building 🤍
