Last night we had dinner as a family in remembrance of Mom. One year without her has been tough on many in this picture. I know she has other family and many friends who miss her as well. Know that I thought of you yesterday as well. While I hate cancer I know Mom is healed and is in a far better place than we are and one day will be reunited.

Visited Tombstone, Az with you on my mind. This was one our favorite movies to watch together. Always quoting lines and expressing our thoughts about life back then always made for some great conversations. Walking this little town I learned so much more about what life was like for the Earps and ole Holiday - sure wish you were around so I could tell you about it! Missing you daily but I know you are in a better place than I am. I look forward to seeing you again! Love you Karole (Mom) and miss you terribly!

God of all peace, my beautiful Mother has exchanged an earthly dwelling for a heavenly one. Although I will miss her and feel sad, I find peace in knowing that to be absent from this body is to be at home with the Lord.

One week at home with hospice. She isn’t in pain (unlike before). Her mind is strong as an ox but her body is so weak. She spends most of her days and nights sleeping. Ask that you keep her in your prayers.

Matthew 11: 28-30. Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Mom was admitted to hospital on Wednesday - she had a lot of fluid in her left lung the oncologist was concerned about. Shortly after being admitted they went in and drained the fluid off (about a liter and half wroth) Seemed to have helped a little bit. But today it seems as if the fluid is creeping back in.
Yesterday they performed a CT - discovered there has been progression. Mass in lung has increased in size causing her airway to collapse. Liver also showed more cancer growth. Her oncologist and lung doctor have decided to stop treatment and she will be released tomorrow morning under hospice care.
Please keep Mom, my Grandma and the rest of us in your thoughts and prayers.

Mom is having the bronchial scope done this morning. Please keep her in your prayers for safe procedure and clean results to follow. Thank you! Mel

Cancer detected in lymph nodes.
Thanks for the prayers.
After seeing the Dr I will decide to fight or flee. Cancer Sucks...

It’s been a minute since I’ve updated. I’m sorry!!
Last scan showed a shadow. So dr (here in Georgia) schedule a biopsy. Doc couldn’t “grab” anything to test (they tried 3 times 😳). They said it was a shadow. (We heard that with the initial dx). The doc ordered a MRI and a pulmonologist referral to see about bronchial scope.
MRI done today. Covid test in preparation for the scope (which was set for Friday)
Mom tested positive for COVID.
Please lift Mom up in prayer. Covid isn’t something she needed. Grandma (Joan) said at the time of test she wasn’t sympathetic . This will delay the scope… the covid and not knowing (delaying of bronchial scope) only adds to the worry and fear Mom has. She has already fought this cancer devil once!
There isn’t much any of us can do but lift her in prayer. I ask that each of you that read this post so just that! Thank you, Mel~

Thank the good Lord, my scans were cancer free. I am not through have to go back July 6th for yet another CT chest w/contrast. However my. Right lung is clear (NED)....AND NO CANCER IN MY LEFT LOBE. THANKS TO ALL THAT HAVE PRAYED FOR ME. I don't think I would have made it this far! Many thanks to Melissa Waddell and Jim Fuller for my care and stay in Louisiana. I love you all!!

Results of last weeks scan coming today. I know that Mom could use some really good news so would you all putting in a word with the man up stairs?! Her journey (in addition to life in general, living in a pandemic) has been mind blowing and a roller coaster (mentally, physically and emotionally) so I hope this appointment can ease and settle her heart and soul. However, I do know hat God is in control. Whatever comes, as alone as she may sometimes feel, she has beautiful people in her world who love , support and stand with her so today let’s rattle out some good vibes! Will update later!
