Class of 2027 student physical therapist Filomen Llegado left her home in Guam just 5 days after graduation and flew 8000 miles to start the Campbell DPT program a week later. In her blog, she shares what motivated her to chase her calling, and how she formed a new sense of family here in Buies Creek.

Tape can be used to give extra support to the fatigued muscles in pregnant bellies. In our CU DPT lab, all bellies are equal, so everyone gets taped – even the guys! Many thanks to CU ’18 DPT Alum Dr. Kaili Warnock (who specializes in Pelvic Health and works at Wake Med) for teaching us the proper placement for tape and educating us on the special needs of women who are peri-partum.

In their final weeks of their didactic semester, our third-year physical therapy students grouped together to research a clinical topic of interest, craft their findings into a professional poster, and deliver oral presentations to their peers and professors. Topics ranged from the impact of early mobilization on ICU length of stay, to virtual reality-based training in patients following stroke, to various training approaches in older adults to target functional mobility, and many others.
Some student groups plan to showcase their posters tomorrow's Campbell University 16th Annual Wiggins Memorial Library Academic Symposium, at next month's 15th Annual Interprofessional Education Health Sciences Research Symposium, and the 2026 APTA NC Annual Conference in October.

We are of their hard work!
