The Winter Crisis Program (WCP) provides financial aid once per heating season from Nov. 1 through March 31 for income-eligible consumers who:

-Have been disconnected or received a shut-off notice;
-Have less than a 25% supply of bulk fuel; or
-Need to establish new service or pay to transfer service.

The WCP may also be used for fuel tank replacement and/or testing, and heating unit repair or replacement.

WCP is administered by the local community action agencies/Energy Assistance Providers. Be careful when you get texts with links, especially ones that ask for payment.

Stay safe and protect your finances:

🚫 Never click links or call numbers from unexpected texts.
💡 Contact the company directly using the number on your bill or their official website.
🔒 Do not share personal or payment information through text.
📞 Report suspicious messages to your phone carrier or the Senior Medicare Patrol.

Did you know that if you take a genetic test that isn't approved by Medicare, it could cost you thousands? If you get a call about a "free" genetic test kit, cancer testing kit, DNA kit, etc. and they say Medicare will cover it, know that it's likely a scam. If you want to have any kind of genetic testing done, please do it with your doctor.
