Did you know Active Release Techniques (ART) requires yearly recertification?

As both an ART provider and instructor, Dr. Brad completes ongoing training every year to maintain certification and stay current on the latest research and treatment techniques. That means our patients receive up-to-date care based on current information — not outdated methods.

This weekend Dr. Brad was at ART headquarters in Colorado Springs learning and refining fascia techniques.

So what exactly is fascia?

Fascia is a thin layer of connective tissue that wraps around every muscle, bone, nerve, and organ in your body. Think of it as a web that holds everything together while allowing tissues to move smoothly.

When fascia becomes tight, irritated, or restricted from injury or repetitive movement, it can lead to pain, stiffness, and limited mobility.

It’s Health Moment Monday!

If you’ve spent any time in our office, you’ve probably heard us say: “The body is made to move.”

Many of us have jobs that keep us sitting or standing in one spot for most of the day, and yes—posture during that time matters. But here’s something just as important:

The body isn’t meant to hold any position for too long. Even “perfect” posture, when held all day, can create tension and stress on the body.

Movement is what keeps joints happy, muscles balanced, and the body working as it should.

So here’s your friendly reminder:
🌿 Step outside.
☀️ Soak up some sunshine.
🚶‍♀️ Take a short walk.
🧘‍♂️ Stretch it out.

It’s Health Moment Monday!

We often push through the workday thinking that to be productive, we have to put in nonstop effort…but our brains and bodies actually work better when we pause!

Taking short microbreaks (just 1–3 minutes every 20-40 minutes) can:
• Reduce ergonomic injury and muscle tension
• Boost focus and efficiency
• Lower stress and improve your mood
• Help prevent burnout over time

Try standing up to stretch, walking to refill your water, or just taking a few deep breaths away from your desk. These tiny pauses can make a significant difference by the end of the day.

Remember: Rest isn’t wasted time—it’s an investment in better energy, health, and performance.
