Sometimes, when it’s your first time on skis and you’ve skied for two full days in a row… you just need a break to be a little silly with your coaches 😄🎿

And honestly? That’s part of the magic. 🪄💫

At NEDS, it’s all about meeting our student-athletes where they are and making sure every moment is a positive, confidence-building experience.

As our winter season starts to wind down, we’re feeling incredibly grateful and proud of what this community has accomplished. What a season it’s been 🙌

A must-read: NEDS Board Chair Jessica Harney shares her experience working with Paralympians and the life-changing impact of adaptive sports. 💙

The 2026 Winter Paralympic Games wrapped up last weekend in northern Italy. Teaching Professor and Chair of the Department of Occupational Therapy Jess Harney was watching and cheering on the athletes she has worked with as a volunteer classifier. Since 2001, Harney has traveled domestically and internationally to assess whether athletes' impairments meet the minimum eligibility standards to compete in the Games.

This week, the Stevens family surprised our staff and volunteers with the most amazing muffins from Mostly Muffins 🧁

As if that wasn’t enough, they also gifted us a beautiful handmade diamond art NEDS logo that one of their family members created. It’s truly incredible and something we will treasure. 💙

Moments like this remind us how special the NEDS community is. The kindness and generosity from our families mean so much to our staff, volunteers, and athletes.

We are so grateful for all of our NEDS families who help make this community so strong. Thank you, Stevens family!
