Family and community are important to us. We have always envisioned SLP in Harmony to be a holistic speech & language resource.

Now that we’re up and running, we‘ve been so blessed to meet other families and be that extra support.

Why do I always encourage child-led?

You’ll get a lot more engagement, interest, and natural learning from their choice of play or item!

You can offer other options & opportunities - they will likely communicate their choice regardless 😉

Exploring and “babbling” on devices are a great sign! They’re motor-learning, hearing consistent speech feedback, and discovering the power of words. It is certainly a journey but WELL worth it 💛

There is so much happening here!

Shared attention, low pressure modeling, wait time, turn taking, social/peer learning, verbal routines, gestures, early speech sounds, etc

Our class is more than just a playgroup 💛 We’re building communication, speech, and language skills through intentional opportunities!

Speech tip: offer them a mic! It doesn’t have to be just for singing

Use animal sounds, fun sounds, vowels, silly words. Get some copying and back & forth going. Take turns and pause! Great opp to practice early communication skills
