Nebraska Team Nutrition Team Nutrition is an integrated, behavior-based, comprehensive plan for promoting the nutritional health of the Nation's school children.

Team Nutrition is an initiative of the USDA Food and Nutrition Service to support the Child Nutrition Programs through training and technical assistance for food-service, nutrition education for children and their caregivers, and school and community support for healthy eating and physical activity. This plan involves schools, parents, and the community in efforts to continuously improve school meals and to promote the health and education of school children. Nebraska Team Nutrition supports Child Nutrition Programs through training and technical assistance for food-service, nutrition education for children and their caregivers, and school and community support for wellness, healthy eating and physical activity. Additionally, Nebraska Team Nutrition provides resources, content expertise, professional development opportunities and technical assistance to support building healthier schools and child care centers environments.

Join us on NCompass LIVE on February 11th! NDE staff will be highlighting Nebraska’s statewide efforts to strengthen family literacy through cross-sector collaboration to support the Nebraska Literacy Project. Resources highlighted will include inclusive practices and accessible tools.

This presentation will showcase the work of the Nebraska Department of Education’s Family Literacy Advisory Committee, including a newly developed implementation guide and centralized resource hub designed to support schools, libraries, and community organizations.
