A morning of hope, connection, and real‑life recovery tools is coming to Nebraska City on March 28 as we gather for *Many Pathways to Recovery*—a space to hear powerful stories, explore community resources, and learn practical strategies for wellness, whether you’re in recovery, supporting someone you love, or simply wanting to understand more; breakfast starts at 8:30 AM, the workshop begins at 9:00, lunch follows at 11:30, and pre‑registration is encouraged but not required as we come together to remind one another that recovery is possible.

Feeling overwhelmed can make your mind race and your body tense, but a simple grounding exercise can help you reconnect with the present moment. Pause, plant your feet on the floor, and slowly name five things you can see, four you can touch, three you can hear, two you can smell, and one you can taste. This gentle reset helps your nervous system settle and gives your brain a break from the swirl. Small moments of grounding can create big moments of relief.

Kids feel spring in their bones long before the weather fully cooperates. Longer days, more light, and the promise of play can make little bodies extra wiggly—and parents extra tired. Getting outside is one of the simplest ways to protect everyone’s sanity. Fresh air helps regulate energy, movement burns off restlessness, and open space gives kids room to reset. Try short “fresh‑air breaks,” after‑school park stops, backyard scavenger hunts, or letting kids help with outdoor chores. Small doses of nature can turn spring chaos into something manageable and even joyful.

Spending even a few minutes in nature can calm the nervous system, ease stress, and boost mood. Fresh air, natural light, and green spaces help the body slow down and the mind refocus, creating a sense of grounding we often miss in busy days. Whether it’s a walk, a quiet moment on the porch, or noticing the sky between sessions, nature offers small resets that support emotional well‑being.

🌤️ Not Every Day Is Perfect — And That’s Okay

Some days feel heavy. Some days feel “meh.” And some days feel like you’re doing your best just to show up.
That doesn’t mean you’re failing — it means you’re human.

Therapy doesn’t promise perfect days.
But it *does* help you understand yourself, build resilience, and create more moments that feel lighter, steadier, and genuinely better.

You don’t have to navigate the hard days alone.
We’re here to help you find the ones that feel a little more hopeful.

Living softly isn’t about being fragile — it’s about choosing gentleness in a world that keeps telling you to push harder.
It’s slowing down when your body whispers for rest.
It’s speaking to yourself with the same kindness you offer everyone else.
It’s letting your nervous system exhale.

Soft living is a skill, not a personality trait — and therapy can help you practice it.
In session, you get space to unlearn the pressure, explore what ease feels like, and build a life that doesn’t run on burnout.

If you’re ready to live a little softer, we’re here to walk with you.

🌼 Katie Bloom, MSW, LICSW — A Standout Therapist with Serious Skill (and Excellent Timing)

Katie Bloom brings a rare blend of clinical expertise, grounded presence, and just‑right humor that helps clients feel supported from the very first session. She has a gift for turning overwhelming thoughts into something manageable — and occasionally into something you can even laugh about.

Katie’s approach is compassionate, thoughtful, and refreshingly real. She helps clients sort through the mental clutter, celebrate meaningful progress, and navigate challenges with clarity and confidence. And yes, she still manages to deliver the perfectly timed one‑liner that reminds you therapy doesn’t have to feel intimidating.

If personal growth had an all‑star roster, Katie would be a first‑round pick.

We’re grateful to have her on our team — and you’ll understand why the moment you meet her.

🐎✨ Welcoming the Year of the Horse

The Year of the Horse invites us to embrace strength, momentum, and the courage to move forward not by sprinting, but by finding a pace that honors our well‑being.

At our practice, we’re celebrating this Lunar New Year by encouraging:
- Steady progress over perfection
- Rest as a form of resilience
- Community as a source of grounding
- Hope as a daily practice

May this new year bring clarity, confidence, and moments that help you feel more connected to yourself and others.

Wishing you a peaceful and empowering Lunar New Year.
