🌟 Staff Spotlight: Meet Toya 🌟

We’re excited to highlight Toya, one of the amazing individuals who helps make The Bridge such a special place. Toya brings creativity, curiosity, and a genuine passion for growth into everything she does.

She has some pretty unique interests, like butterfly taxidermy 🦋, and an impressive musical side, playing the clarinet, bass clarinet, and oboe. Toya is also someone who loves to dream big, with goals of traveling the world and experiencing places like Rome, China, and Egypt.

Outside of work, you can usually find her enjoying her favorite comfort foods (Orden de Ceviche or shrimp scampi, depending on the day 😄) or smiling at just about any animal she sees 🐾

Toya is also looking forward to continuing her own journey by going back to school to explore a path in veterinary animal care. Som**hing that truly reflects her love for animals and desire to grow.

We’re so grateful to have Toya on our team and for the individuality, compassion, and positivity she brings each day. 💙

COMMUNITY ALERT | Since late March, six people in Lincoln are believed to have died from drug overdoses, including two today (April 8th). Our thoughts go out to the loved ones impacted by these tragedies.

At this time, our Narcotics and Criminal Investigations Units are working to determine what substances were responsible for the deaths and if there is any connection between them. The investigations are ongoing.

Please be aware of this upward trend in deaths and do NOT take anything not prescribed to you by a medical professional. Overdoses can happen to anyone.

Remember, Narcan (naloxone) can help reverse an opioid overdose. It is FREE in Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department vending machines around the city, at many local pharmacies and online at stopodne.com.

🍃Happy World Health Day! 🍃

Health includes more than just our physical well-being -- it also means caring for our mental health, emotional wellness, and recovery journey.

Today is a reminder that every healthy choice, every supportive conversation, and every step toward healing matters. Small progress is still progress, and taking care of yourself is always worth it. 💚
