Meet Dawn J., one of the bright lights here at The Bridge!

If you’ve ever crossed paths with Dawn, you already know: her smile shows up before she does and it never fails to lift the entire room. She brings joy, warmth, and a steady presence to every shift.

A little about Dawn:
👉 Morning must-have: A Bible verse to start the day
👉 Go-to comfort food: A Cheeseburger from Runza
👉 Weekend activity: Watching movies with her grandchildren
👉 Favorite shows: Blindside & Yellowstone
👉 Dream trip: Paris
👉 Hidden talent: Smiling — a lot
👉 Favorite saying: “Live life to the fullest — tomorrow is not promised.”

Why Dawn loves The Bridge:
“I’m in recovery myself, and I know what it feels like to be searching for hope. Working here lets me support people who are walking a path I understand. I want them to feel seen, supported, and reminded that recovery is possible. Being part of someone’s healing — even a small part — means the world to me.”

Dawn, thank you for bringing so much heart into this work. Your compassion is felt, your kindness is noticed, and your joy lifts the people around you — clients and coworkers alike. You make The Bridge a warmer, more hopeful place, simply by being you.

MEET JERRY — A KIND, GROUNDED SOUL WHO BRINGS CALM, CARE, AND HEART TO THE BRIDGE.

Some people make an impact not with volume, but with presence, the kind of presence that makes others feel understood, valued, and safe. That’s Jerry. He has a natural way of tuning into people, noticing what they need, and offering support without ever being asked. His gentle spirit creates space for others to breathe, to open up, and to feel genuinely cared for. Clients trust him. Coworkers rely on him. And The Bridge is better because of the steady, compassionate way he shows up every single day.

A few things to know about Jerry…
Go-to morning drink: Water — simple, refreshing, and always reliable
One word that describes his work style: Creative
Favorite part of working on the team: Being surrounded by cool people he genuinely enjoys seeing every day
How he unwinds: Watching anime
Favorite off-day ritual: Spending time outdoors — hiking, camping, soaking in the peace of nature
Fun fact: He spent 7 years as a resident DJ at a local nightclub
Favorite artist: GRiZ
Favorite saying: “I’d agree with you, then we’d both be wrong.”

What he enjoys most about The Bridge:
For Jerry, it all comes down to connection and compassion. He loves being part of a place where helping people is the focus — where coworkers care deeply, clients are met with dignity, and every day offers the opportunity to make a positive impact. “We get to help people in need and make connections,” he says, and that purpose is what keeps him inspired.

Jerry, thank you for being such a gentle, caring, steady presence at The Bridge. Your heart, your ability to truly see people, and your strength make a meaningful difference every day. We’re grateful for the way you show up for your team, for our clients, and for the mission.

Kelvin’s Kindness Concert

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in Kelvin’s Kindness Concert for choosing to host this meaningful memorial event in The Bridge’s Loft space and for allowing us to be part of such a special evening. A special thank you to Marissa, Kelvin’s wife, for reaching out and thinking of The Bridge as a way to honor Kelvin’s life and legacy.

It was clear throughout the night that Kelvin’s kindness, compassion, and spirit continue to live on through the people he touched and the community that came together in his name.

Through this outpouring of love and support, hundreds of essential clothing items were donated, along with generous monetary support and a couple of gift cards. These contributions will directly support our clients by helping meet basic needs while preserving dignity and offering comfort during their recovery.

Thank you to the organizers, performers, and everyone who attended and gave so thoughtfully. We are truly grateful to have been part of an evening that so beautifully reflected Kelvin’s legacy.
