It's International Insurance Fraud Week.

One of the common types of Medicare scams is the plastic card scam where someone calls about a new, plastic card from Medicare. They may ask to confirm your Medicare number so they can confirm you have the correct card.

Important reminder of the Medicare Open Enrollment Season. The Nebraska SHIP & SMP is here to help. From now until December 7, Medicare enrollees can:

- Change Part D plans
- Change Medicare Advantage plans
- Switch from original Medicare to an MA plan

Need help navigating what's best for you? Call the Nebraska SHIP & SMP at 1-800-234-7119 to schedule a 1-on-1 appointment.

Nebraskan seniors can look at their options with the help of a volunteer or use the Medicare website to navigate changes during the open enrollment period, which ends Dec. 7.
