📢 Measles Update – Lancaster County

We have received updated guidance from the health department regarding the recently reported measles case in Lancaster County.

At this time, this is not considered an outbreak, which requires multiple unrelated cases.

Based on current guidance, there are no changes to routine MMR vaccination recommendations at this time.

🔄 This situation is fluid, and recommendations may change. We are continuing to monitor updates closely and will share new guidance here if anything changes.

💬 If you have general questions, you are welcome to leave them in the comments, and we will address them as we are able.

🚨 Important:
If you believe your child has been exposed to measles or is experiencing symptoms consistent with measles (such as fever with cough, runny nose, red eyes, or rash), please call our office and let us know your concern. This allows our team to triage appropriately and arrange care safely, helping protect other patients.

Thank you for your patience and partnership as we work with public health officials to keep our community informed.

🔔 This page will continue to be updated as recommendations evolve.

Measles often begins with fever, cough, runny nose, and red eyes. After a few days of fever, a rash may appear, usually starting on the face and spreading downward.

Under routine circumstances, the MMR vaccine is recommended at 12 months, with a second dose given starting at 4 years of age. If local measles activity increases, we will share any updated guidance in coordination with the local health department.

If you’re concerned your child may have symptoms consistent with measles or has had a known exposure, please call our office. This allows our team to thoughtfully triage your child’s visit and help limit potential exposure to others.
