On the road again! 🚗💨

The Assistive Technology Partnership Education Team has been traveling across Nebraska. This week, AT Specialists Jeri and Kim visited Educational Service Unit 5!

We loved spending time with Early Childhood providers and Services Coordinators, sharing ideas, tools, and practical strategies to support young learners through assistive technology. 💡🧩

Assistive Technology is powerful… but here’s the truth: AT alone won’t create student successes.

Adding the tool isn’t the finish line — it’s the starting line. 🏁

For IEP teams, real impact happens when we focus on:
✔️ Intentional implementation
✔️ Team collaboration 🤝
✔️ Ongoing training & support
✔️ Student voice & ownership 🎓

A device in a backpack won’t change outcomes.
A supported student who knows how and when to use their tools will. 💡

Let’s stop asking, “Do they have AT?”
And start asking, “Are we using it to build independence?”

On Friday, we had another great day connecting with our Omaha Public School partners, this time working with two great groups of Physical Education teachers! 💪🎾

The ATP Education Team had the opportunity to present to OPS educators about our program and how it can be used to support students with disabilities in their schools. We’re passionate about equipping teachers with tools and resources that help every student fully participate and succeed in physical education.

We’re grateful for the engagement, thoughtful questions, and shared commitment to inclusion. Together, we’re building stronger, more accessible learning environments for all students.

This training will be filled with visual imagery along with an overview of the applicable Standards from the Architectural Barriers Act (ABA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Accessibility Standards. Actual technical assistance scenarios will be used to provide real-life examples and to further knowledge of applying the Standards.

Registrants will be able to submit questions in advance during the registration process.
