More about Maria...
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Maple Grove, MN. However, for the last 15 years I lived in Williston, ND, where my husband and our 2 kids (ages 6 & 3) moved from in January.
Fun Fact about yourself:
I have a twin brother who I am 1 minute older than!
What was your very first job?
I was a lifeguard at the community pool & a local lake in Maple Grove.
What’s your favorite holiday and why?
Christmas! I love the magic of the season, baking cookies/goodies, watching holiday movies with my family, and sitting by the Christmas tree. Also, in true Midwesterner fashion, sledding in the snow with my family and having cocoa afterwards.
Favorite Type of Music:
I am your cliche 80's child & millennial who enjoys all the 90's- 2000's grunge, 2000's pop, and 90's country. But of course I do love today's hits, and really just about love any kind of music.
What are your hobbies or things you like to do in your spare time?
Spending time with my family, we enjoy hiking, camping, riding bikes, being outside, and finding new adventures.
If you could describe yourself as an animal, what would it be and why?
ChatGPT told me, "From the little I know about you & our conversations, I'd describe you most like a Golden Retriever. You're loyal, warm & empathetic, playful but nice, resilient & adaptable & people-centered." I think it's a great comparison to who I am, although I'm a little biased. 😉
What is one thing you want to do at least once in your life?
Travel to Banff National Park
What famous person would you most want to be friends with?
Jennifer Lawrence or Kristen Bell. They both are women with strong personalities who stand up for what they believe in, which I appreciate very much!
What’s one thing you want everyone to know about you?
I'm a pretty open book and overshare often; consider yourself warned. 😆
What are you looking forward to the most about working at NHO?
Expanding my comfort zone as a nurse & learning new territories in my nursing career, compared to the last 11 years of nursing. I'm also very excited to be able to work in a specialty area that had always been a dream of mine, however, never a reality, where I previously lived and worked.
